WOONSOCKET – Ron Gaulin, a retired Woonsocket Middle School teacher, has plenty of connections to the United States Air Force. He served in the Air Force himself in the 1960s and 70s and has two sons and a daughter-in-law currently on active duty.
It should be no surprise then that Gaulin has followed the development of an Air Force Junior ROTC Wing at the high school over the past six years and helped out with wing activities when he could.
John P, Comastra, Jr.
WOONSOCKET- John P, Comastra, Jr., 73, of Pond St., died Thursday, October 21, 2010 in Landmark Medical Center. He was the husband of Norma (Bruni) Comastra, whom he married May 10, 1958.
Born in Milford, MA, he was the son of the late John P. Comastra, Sr. and Leona (Lamontagne) Comastra.
Mr. Comastra was a truck driver for several area businesses and retired with the Wonder Bread Co. in 1999. He was a Marine Veteran of the Korean War and member of the Teamsters Union and the VFW, Woonsocket.
Helene J. Harnois
NORWICH- Helene J. Harnois, 82 of Norwich, died in the comfort of her family Wednesday, October 20, 2010 at the Villa Maria Nursing & Rehabilitation Community in Plainfield, CT.
Helene was born in Woonsocket, RI on October 17, 1928, daughter of the late Joseph Petrin and Emma Benoit Petrin Caron. She was the beloved wife of Normand M. Harnois with whom she celebrated 62 years of marriage on July 2, 2010.
Irenee F. Blais
MANVILLE - Irenee F. Blais, 87, of Old River Road died Saturday, October 16, 2010 at the Holiday Retirement Home, Manville. He was the husband of Rita I. (Giguere) Blais. Mr. and Mrs. Blais celebrated their 60th anniversary on April 29.
A lifelong resident of Manville, he was a son of the late Donat and Denise (Bedard) Blais.
Mr. Blais was a carpenter and molder operator for E. Brodeur & Sons, Woonsocket and later worked as a carpenter at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital, North Providence before retiring.

Cavanaugh
CUMBERLAND- William E. Cavanaugh, 84, of Cumberland, passed away Wednesday, October 20, 2010. He was the husband of the late Doris (Lustenberger) Cavanaugh.
He was a Navy Veteran of World War II. Mr. Cavanaugh was the co-owner of Tap Auto Service, with Aldor St. Germain, for forty five years, retiring in 1996.
