William F. Collins Jr.
SWANSEA- William F. Collins Jr., 76, of Swansea, formerly of Milford, died Thursday, October 21, 2010 in his home. He was the husband of Dorinda (Rodrigues) Collins. He was the husband of the late Loretta (Tusino) Collins who died in 1993.
He was born in Woonsocket RI, son of the late William and Helen (Trudeau) Collins Sr., living in Milford before moving to Swansea in 1992.
Robert L. Clausen
NO. SMITHFIELD- Robert L. Clausen, 92, resident of No. Smithfield, passed away Oct. 23, 2010 at Fatima Hospital in No. Providence.
Loving husband of Pauline (Sweeney) Clausen.
Born in South Bend IN, raised in Laconia NH, a son of the late Frederick & Ragna (Jensen) Clausen.

Martineau
WOONSOCKET- Jeannette M. Martineau, 90, of Rhodes Ave., Woonsocket, died Saturday at The Friendly Home. She was the wife of the late Gerard Martineau.
Born in Woonsocket, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Melina (Dufresne) Froment. She was raised in Woonsocket and resided in Blackstone for several years after her marriage in 1942. She later resided on Wake Robin Rd., in Lincoln for many years.
Mrs. Martineau was employed by the Medoff Company in Woonsocket and Ames Department Stores in Bellingham until retiring in 1982.

A typical Division II playoff scramble is developing with two weeks left in the regular season schedule.
This is the lone league that features an eight-team playoff field. Division II possesses 16 teams, almost double the size of Division I. And because of those numbers, the D-II playoff situation is almost always complicated.
Right now, four D-II teams seem certain to make the Nov. 12-13 quarterfinal round: Tolman (5-0), Woonsocket (4-1), Chariho (4-1) and Johnston (4-1). The scramble for the other four spots wonât be figured out until after the dust clears on Nov. 6.
WARWICK â When he took the head coaching position at Woonsocket High a few years ago, Carnell Henderson stated that one of his primary goals was to develop the Villa Novans into a Division I squad.
He may have got a glimpse of how that would look on Saturday afternoon as his talented and speedy crew certainly played like it belongs there.
An expected close affair with Div. II-B rival Toll Gate was a rout by the first quarter as the Villa Novans spoiled the Titansâ Homecoming contest in a big way, coasting to a surprisingly easy 48-0 victory.
NARRAGANSETT â Two steps forward, one step back.
All of the good vibes Lincoln High gained in beating previously undefeated Moses Brown the previous week went up in smoke Saturday at Zepp Field. Turnovers and several ill-timed penalties were the major bugaboos in a 23-7 setback to Narragansett High that places the Lions squarely on the bubble of the Division III playoff scene.
âWe completely beat ourselves,â was the quick-to-the-point assessment Lincoln head coach Dave Waycott offered after his club slipped to 3-3 in the league, a record now shared by the Mariners.
GLOCESTER - Alesia Razumova and Hannah Fast, who graduated from Ponaganset High School last June, could have spent their summer before starting college going to the beach or hanging out with friends.
Instead, the two girls spent most of their summer vacation as research assistants hunkered down in the high school library pouring over historical and death records in Rhode Island to find evidence of the 1918-19 epidemic of Spanish flu that killed thousands of people worldwide.
October 22nd
WOONSOCKET â Ron Gaulin, a retired Woonsocket Middle School teacher, has plenty of connections to the United States Air Force. He served in the Air Force himself in the 1960s and 70s and has two sons and a daughter-in-law currently on active duty.
It should be no surprise then that Gaulin has followed the development of an Air Force Junior ROTC Wing at the high school over the past six years and helped out with wing activities when he could.
John P, Comastra, Jr.
WOONSOCKET- John P, Comastra, Jr., 73, of Pond St., died Thursday, October 21, 2010 in Landmark Medical Center. He was the husband of Norma (Bruni) Comastra, whom he married May 10, 1958.
Born in Milford, MA, he was the son of the late John P. Comastra, Sr. and Leona (Lamontagne) Comastra.
Mr. Comastra was a truck driver for several area businesses and retired with the Wonder Bread Co. in 1999. He was a Marine Veteran of the Korean War and member of the Teamsters Union and the VFW, Woonsocket.
Helene J. Harnois
NORWICH- Helene J. Harnois, 82 of Norwich, died in the comfort of her family Wednesday, October 20, 2010 at the Villa Maria Nursing & Rehabilitation Community in Plainfield, CT.
Helene was born in Woonsocket, RI on October 17, 1928, daughter of the late Joseph Petrin and Emma Benoit Petrin Caron. She was the beloved wife of Normand M. Harnois with whom she celebrated 62 years of marriage on July 2, 2010.
