WOONSOCKET Rene Henry Cote, 73, of Lydia Avenue, Woonsocket, died Thursday, October 6, 2011in Oakland Grove Healthcare Center. He was the husband of Ruth L. (L"Heureux) Cote whom he married in 1962.
Born in Bellingham, MA, he was the son of the late Anthony and Claire (Racine) Cote.

CUMBERLAND- Richard, Aline A., 74, of Flat Street, Cumberland, died Sunday at Landmark Hospital. She was the widow of Raymond J. Richard, who died in September, 1996.
Born in Woonsocket, she was a daughter of the late Bertrand and Florence (Phaneuf) Plasse.
Aline worked at Kirkbrae Country Club for 31 years before retiring in 1999. She was a member of AARP and a communicant of Our Lady Queen of Martyrs.

Jon P. "Zack" Zachadnyk

BURLINGTON, VT- Jon Payne "Zack" Zachadnyk, 86, passed away on October 4, 2011.
He was born in Blackstone, MA son of the late Alex and Mary (Maliniak) Zachadnyk.
He graduated from Blackstone High School and Hill's Business College in Woonsocket, RI.
Zack opened his own restaurant, in Montgomery Center, VT and that was the beginning at "Zack's On The Rocks".

Will realignment result in major shakeup in ’12?

Seems the Interscholastic League is revising its realignment policies, which could be interpreted as a sign that the state’s governing body for high school athletics is not turning a deaf ear when its constituents speak up.
Sticking primarily with how these tweaks impact the football side, the idea of altering everything from how often realignment takes place to the specific formula that mathematically helps place teams in one division as opposed to another is something that will surely help to keep the overall product fresh.

Big weekend in Division II-B

Weekends don’t get any bigger than this one when it comes to the race for the Division II-B title and the other three playoffs spots up for grabs.
On Friday night, Tolman carries its 3-0 record into Pariseau Field for a 7 p.m. contest against Mount Hope (2-1), while on Saturday afternoon, the division’s other 3-0 team, West Warwick, hosts St. Raphael (2-1) in a 1:30 p.m. affair.

(Rajotte) Plamondon, 79, of Woonsocket, passed away from her earthly life, to her eternal life with God, on Tuesday, October 4, 2011 at 8 P.M. at Rhode Island Hospital, of respiratory failure, after a thirty-one year battle with cancer. Her husband and children were by her side
Born in Central Falls, RI she was the daughter of the late Emile and Yvonne (Busiere) Rajotte.

WOONSOCKET- Engram, George, 82 of Park Avenue, Woonsocket, died October 3, 2011 in Good Samaritan Medical Center, Brockton MA. He was the son of the late Manuel and the late Martha (Miller) Engram.
He was employed as a short-order cook for many years. He was a resident of Woonsocket for 5 years. He was a member of St. James Baptist Church.

WOONSOCKET- Linda D. (Courtney) Selima, 56, of Darwin St., passed away on Monday with her family by her side. She was the loving wife of Charles Selima and the loving daughter of Bernice (Forsythe) Courtney of Bellingham, MA. and the late James Courtney.
Besides her husband and mother she leaves 4 sons, Benjamin, Jason, Aaron and Daniel Selima all of Woonsocket, 2 daughters Rachel and Sarah Selima both of Woonsocket, also 3 sisters Sandra Courtney of Hopedale, MA., Theresa Sousa of Hudson, MA., and Mary Courtney of Bellingham, MA.

NO. SMITHFIELD Christopher J. Johnson, 42, of Circle Dr., died Saturday, October 1, 2011 in Landmark Medical Center.
Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of Edwin, Jr. and Lucille (Godfrin) Johnson of No. Smithfield.
Mr. Johnson was a Computer Consultant, with his father, for Edco, No. Smithfield and also worked for Key Consultants. He was an avid boater and NASCAR fan. Mr. Johnson was loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed.

WOONSOCKET- Walter E. Greenlund, 63, of Delray Beach, FL died Monday, October 3, 2011 while visiting in Rhode Island.
Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of the late Walter W. and Doris M. (Cournoyer) Greenlund.
Mr. Greenlund worked for General Motors in Framingham and Interstate Towing in Woonsocket, retiring in 2004. He served as a Sargeant in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War. Wally liked watching baseball and going fishing but especially enjoyed spending time with his family and was considered the number one fan at his grandchildren's sporting events.
