Leonard Van Bever
WOONSOCKET- Leonard Van Bever, 93, of Star Ave., passed away peacefully on Tuesday at home with his family by his side. He was the loving husband of Phyllis M. (Samek) Van Bever.
Born July 4, 1918 in Woonsocket he was the son of the late Leonard & Marie (Henault) Van Bever, he resided in Woonsocket most of his life.
Carole A. Walsh
WOONSOCKET- Carole A. Walsh 64, of Gaulin Ave. died Sunday at Landmark Medical Center.
She was born in Woonsocket a daughter of the late George and Anita (Mondoux) Walsh.
Carole was a graduate of The Sawyer School. She was employed as a medical assistant at Thundermist Health Center for over seventeen years.

NORTH SMITHFIELD — The playoffs for Division IV begin Nov. 29 with a pair of semifinal contests.
Right now, one of the hottest team heading into the postseason just be North Smithfield.
After falling to Smithfield back on Sept. 30, the Northmen have won five straight games, mostly against the upper-echelon of divisional squads.
En route to its current 5-2 mark, one that ties the local gridders with the Sentinels for second place in the league, N.S. has knocked off two undefeated teams (Exeter/West Greenwich, Mount Pleasant) and two others with winning records (Smithfield, Central Falls).
It's often said that passion in athletics among our youths has been lost. With all the distractions that kids have nowadays, such as video games, computers and iPods, the younger generation has been more inclined to sit down and punch keys or work a remote than dedicate themselves to a sport (or sports).
The decline in roster numbers and the empty fields and basketball courts on a daily basis has proven that some of that is true.
But the passion hasn't disappeared completely. There is still that urge to test one's strength to its physical and mental limits among some of our youths.
For Rhode Island high school football teams, playing on Thanksgiving is hailed as one of those holiday traditions you can’t live without, it’s so-called importance ranking up there with the Macy’s Day Parade, awkward dinner-time conversations and endless turkey leftovers.
Robert P. Gailloux
WOONSOCKET- Robert P. Gailloux, age 67, of Woonsocket, RI passed away on Saturday, November 12, 2011 at the Landmark Medical Center, Woonsocket, RI.
He was born Tuesday, July 18, 1944 in Woonsocket, RI, son of the late Gilbert and Gertrude (Courtemanche) Gailloux.
Robert was a lifelong Woonsocket resident, who had worked for the Ames department store company for 28 years.
He is survived by his brother Wilfred of Woonsocket, as well as 3 nephews, 4 grandnieces, 2 grandnephews and several cousins.
Lucien J. Leclaire
WOONSOCKET- Lucien J. Leclaire, 82, of Pond St. Woonsocket, died November 15, 2011 at The Holiday Retirement Home in Manville. He was the husband of the late Jacqueline G. (Thibault) Leclaire.
Born in Bellingham, he was a son of the late Arthur and Beatrice (Therien) Leclaire.
He was a graduate of Bellingham High School and resided in Woonsocket for most of his life.
Mr. Leclaire served in the Army during the Korean War.
He was employed by Valley Gas for over 25 years before retiring.
Francois T. Labrecque
CUMBERLAND- Francois T. (Voyer) Labrecque, 86, of Sumner Brown Rd. Mt. St. Rita Health Center., formerly of Spring St., Woonsocket, died Monday November 14, 2011, in Mt. St. Rita Health Center. She was the wife of the late Joseph R. Labrecque.
Born in Woonsocket, daughter of the late Joseph and Delvina (St. Germain) Voyer.
Mrs. Labreccque was a Homemaker.
She was an active parishioner, at the former Our Lady of Victories Church., in Woonsocket.
Winifred G. Letendre
BURRILLVILLE - Winifred G. (Galloway) Letendre, 98, of Pascoag, died Sunday, Nov. 13, 2011 in Landmark Medical Center, Woonsocket. She was the wife of the late Milton Letendre.
Born in Bridgeton, she was the daughter of the late John and Agnes (Skirrow) Galloway.
Winifred, along with her husband, operated a poultry farm for many years. She was a life member of the Burrillville Senior Citizens.
