Olha Mode

MANVILLE - Olha Mode, 94, passed away on Dec. 2nd from complications from a hip fracture, at the Holiday Retirement Home. A long-time resident of North Providence, Olha moved to the Holiday in 2009.
Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Dmytro Mode and Catherine (Rudka) Mode Boyko and sister of the late Dmytro Paul Mode, who was killed in active service during WWII. Olha worked for the Army Corps of Engineers and the Veterans Administration.
She was secretary to the chief of surgery at the Veteran's Administration Medical Center for 30 years until she retired in 1977.

NORTH SMITHFIELD - Edna M. Boudreau, 108, of Lincoln, RI, formally of North Smithfield, RI passed away on Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at The Holiday in Lincoln, RI.
She was born in Woonsocket RI on January 2, 1903, daughter of the late Alexander and Georgiana (Dion) Blanchette.
Edna was a life long resident of North Smithfield, who had worked for Uniroyal in Woonsocket as an assembler for 37 years. Edna also could be found doing what she liked to do best, which was sewing, as she was known by many to be an expert seamstress.
