The Woonsocket duo of Jalen Evans and Jessie Charette placed in multiple events, Evans finishing first in the 100-meter dash (11.40 seconds) while Charette was tops in the triple jump (44 feet, 1 inch). Ponagansetâ€™s Luke Jaffa leaped a meet-best 12-8 to cop the pole vault as the Chieftains captured the boysâ€™ team title with 55 points.

WOONSOCKET â€“ A Providence man accused in the robbery and shooting death of gas station manager David D. Main outside Citizens Bank last fall has been sentenced to serve 18 years for violating his probation in connection with prior armed robberies.
Pleau, 33, was the gunman in a three-way conspiracy to the rob Main, 49, as he was depositing receipts from the nearby Shell station where he worked on Sept. 20, according to federal prosecutors.
