WOONSOCKET- Mrs. Susan M. (Zito) Gobeille, 92, died May 16, 2011 at St. Antoine Residence. She was the wife of the late Frederick C. Gobeille, Sr.
Born March 14, 1919 in W. Warwick, a daughter of the late Paolo and Carmella (Piantarosa) Zito. She was a No. Smithfield resident most of her life.
Susan worked as a tester for A.T. Cross in Lincoln for several years. She also worked for the former Kornstein's in Woonsocket for many years.
Susan was a former member of the Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Seniors and served as the secretary for many years.

JOHNS ISLAND, SC- Georgette M. (Mandeville) Morin, 101, long-time resident of Woonsocket, died Sunday, April 24 at Harvest Rehab and Nursing Home in Johns Island, South Carolina. She was the devoted wife of Raymond J. Morin for fifty years before his passing in 1985.
Born in Sorel, Quebec, Canada, she was one of thirteen children. The family moved to Woonsocket when Georgette was a child.

BLACKSTONE Keith R. Carlisle, 38, of Blackstone, passed away suddenly after being stricken at home on Sunday, May 15, 2011 at Landmark Medical Center. He was the loving, caring and devoted husband to his high school sweetheart, Brenda E. (Lemay) Carlisle of 15 years. May 27th they would have celebrated their 16th wedding anniversary.
He was also a wonderful father to Kayla and Kristen Carlisle.

WARWICK --- Right now, it appears the road to the Division I championship goes through Bishop Hendricken, and on Monday night, the Hawks proved to Mount St. Charles that they may indeed be the team to beat.
Hard-hitting junior John Kane unloaded 15 kills to lead the defending champs to a 3-1 victory over the visiting Mounties and help keep their record perfect at 12-0.

Man injured in leap from house fire

LINCOLN — In an attempt to escape from a burning three-story tenement house early Monday morning, a man leaped from a third-floor window and suffered serious injuries, Manville Fire Chief Pete Adam stated.
“He didn't suffer any burns, but I believe he broke both his legs,” Adam said later Monday. “Lincoln Rescue (personnel) transported him to Rhode Island Hospital … This was one of the worst fires I've seen (in this village) in quite a while.”

Man's ear bitten off in altercation

WOONSOCKET — A city man was arrested after he bit off piece of a man's ear in a fight Sunday night, police said.
Peter Beauvil, 22, was arraigned in District Court on one count of mayhem, a felony. Beauvil was sent to the Adult Correctional Institutions after failing to post bail Monday, according to the judiciary's Web site.

WOONSOCKET- George H. Richard, 89, of Woonsocket passed away on Sunday, May 15, 2011 at Rhode Island Hospital.
He was the beloved husband of the late Therese M.J. (Morisseau) Richard.
Born in Woonsocket on October 24, 1921, he was the son of the late Walter D. and Marie Rose (Allain) Richard.

NORTH SMITHFIELD- Claire C. (Fournier) Roy, 69, of Greenville Rd. died Saturday May 14, 2011, with her family by her side in Hospice St. Antoine.
She was the wife of George A. Roy.
Born in Woonsocket, daughter of the late Ernest and Jeanette (Pelletier) Fournier.
Claire worked as a Bookkeeper for the Stiller Carpet Distributors, until she retired.
She was a volunteer at the former MT. St. Francis Nursing Home, now Trinity Rehabilitation Center.
