WOONSOCKET â The completion of a contract agreement between Giovanna M. Donoyan and the School Committee will fill the school departmentâs top administrative post as the new school year begins at the end of the month.
School Committee Chairman Marc A. Dubois said Donoyan and three members of the panel, himself and School Committeewomen Linda Majewski and Eleanor Nadeau, completed work on a three-year contract with the new superintendent at a special meeting Friday afternoon.
âA contract was signed and she is going to start with us on Sept. 1,â Dubois said.

In order to secure a spot on the ballot, candidates must file declaration papers at the offices of the Board of Canvassers Aug. 22-30. The office is located on the third floor of City Hall, 169 Main St.
WOONSOCKET â Andrew Switzer earned the coveted rank of Eagle Scout while a member of Woonsocketâs Boy Scout Troop 1106, and decided it would only be fitting to celebrate that honor at the place where his troop has learned much about scouting over the years â Camp Yawgoog in Rockville, R.I. So on Friday, Switzer, his father, Steven Switzer, an assistant scoutmaster for the Troop, and Switzerâs family members held his Eagle Ceremony at Camp Sandy Beach at Yawgoog where Troop 1106 annually spends a week of the summer.

UXBRIDGE, MA- Andre Dominic Verdo, 61, Passed away on August 12, 2011 surrounded by his loving family.
Andre is survived by his beloved wife of 30 years, Denise (Jacques) Verdo; his three loving children, daughter Sylvia (Verdo) Becker, sons Andrew Verdo and David Verdo; and his six sweet grandchildren Arianna, Brett, Isabella, Gavin, Julianna and Cain. They will forever miss their adoring, silly Pep.

WOONSOCKET- Howard Farrow, 67, of Summer St. died Friday August 12, 2011 in Landmark Medical Center with his family by his side. He was husband of Linda (Allen ) Farrow.
Born in Newbury, South Carolina, son, of the late Willie and Amanda ( Thomas ) Farrow Sr.
He worked as a Truck driver for Grossman, and also as a Laborer, for Durastone Flexicore, for several years.
He was a former member of the Masons, and a member of the Tyra Club, and served as Past President, and a member of St. James Baptist Church.

Florence E. Boulet
WOONSOCKET- Florence E. Boulet, 78, resident of Kennedy Manor, died August 12, 2011 after a short illness in the Woonsocket Health Center.
Born Feb. 21, 1933 in Cranston RI, a daughter of the late Leo & Florence (Recore) Boulet.
She is survived by several cousins and close friends.
Florence worked for the Finklestein Co., Draper Co. in Hopedale MA and Fenwal of Ashland MA. She was a member of the Kennedy Manor Club. She enjoyed bingo, traveling, and bowling.
William F. Maloney
BLACKSTONE- William F. Maloney, 87, of Blackstone, MA died Friday, August 12, 2011 in Milford Regional Medical Center, Milford, MA. He was the husband of the late Grace (Gilleran) Maloney who passed away in 2001.
Born in Blackstone, MA he was the son of the late Edward S. and Eileen (Brooks) Maloney.
