Carnell Henderson is aware of the burden heâs placed on his Woonsocket assistant coaches. The head coach, who continues to come along after undergoing surgery in early August to repair a torn tendon in quadriceps muscle of his left leg, knows that just like the players have to step up their game whenever thereâs an absence, so too does his staff.
The idea is to keep things as close to the status quo as possible until Henderson returns to the sidelines, which he is optimistic will happen this season.

NORTH SMITHFIELD â They began lining up a half-hour before the doors opened, some hoping to score some swag and grand-opening freebies, while others were looking to get an early start on their shopping.
Even more were there because they were just curious to see what it looked like.
In each case, Wal-Mart Supercenter #2225 didn't disappoint.
About 60 early birds came out Wednesday morning as Wal-Mart celebrated the opening of its new North Smithfield store at Dowling Village with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and free coffee just before the store opened its doors to customers at 7:30.
WOONSOCKET -- A city mom voicing anxiety and frustration over her child-rearing responsibilities allegedly assaulted her 16-month-old son in front of her own mother Monday afternoon, tossing him to the floor and fracturing his left shoulder.
Police charged Felicia P. Taylor, 24, of 44 Burnside Ave., with first-degree child abuse over the assault after investigating the incident on Tuesday.
The baby was initially taken to Landmark Medical Center by Taylor and family members and subsequently transported to Hasbro Children's Hospital for further treatment.
Rita M. Galuza
BELLINGHAM- Rita M. (Courtemanche) Galuza, 88, of Bellingham, died Wednesday, September 14, 2011 in Hopkins Manor, North Providence. Her husband of 52 years, Alex Galuza, died in 1998.
Born in Blackstone, MA, she was the daughter of the late Pierre and Florilda (Thibeault) Courtemanche.
She was a member of St. Joseph's Church, Woonsocket, the Ladies of St. Ann's and the former Assumption Church in Bellingham. Rita loved to play tennis, sewing, baking, cake decorating and crafts.
Richard P. Dansereau Sr.
WOONSOCKET- Richard P. Dansereau Sr., 71, of Paradis Ave. died Tuesday September 6, 2011, in the Woonsocket Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was the husband of Linda (Fregeau) Dansereau.
Born in Woonsocket, son of the late Conrad and Edna (Kozaczka) Dansereau.
Mr. Dansereau worked as a laborer for Hope Global Co. in Cumberland.
Raymond A. Lemire
CUMBERLAND- Raymond A. Lemire, 86, resident of Cumberland, formerly of Pleasant St. Bellingham, passed away September 14, 2011 at Landmark Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family.
He was the loving husband of 61 years to Claire (Defond) Lemire.
Born July 3, 1925, he was the son of the late Henry and Viola (St. Amant) Lemire.

CHICAGO, IL- Dr. Edward Wawszkiewicz, dear son of Sophie Wawszkiewicz, of Biddeford, ME, formerly of No. Smithfield and the late Joseph Wawszkiewicz and fond brother of the late Dr. Monica Wawszkiewicz.
