WOONSOCKET â A spending freeze, a hiring freeze and the termination of the Feinstein Learning Academy for disruptive students are at the top of Schools Supt. Giovanna Donoyanâs list in a plan ordered by the stateâs revenue director to eliminate a $2 million-plus deficit in the School Departmentâs 2011 budget.
Donoyan submitted the plan yesterday to State Revenue Director Rosemary Booth Gallogly and state Auditor General Dennis Hoyle, in keeping with the deadline laid down by the state officials during an emergency meeting Monday.
Robert F. Kaczor
BLACKSTONE, MA- Robert F. Kaczor, 63, of Jefferson St., passed away on Monday at Milford Regional Medical Ctr. He was the loving husband of Suzanne (Daignault) Kaczor.
Born April 17, 1948 in Whitinsville, MA. He was the son of the late Frederick & Matilda (Gudanowski) Kaczor.
He resided in Blackstone almost all his life.
Robert was employed as a Mechanical Engineer for the Tegra Medical Co. in Franklin.
Besides his wife he leaves 3 Sons: James M., Brian M. & Steven M. Kaczor, a daughter Kristine E. Kaczor all of Blackstone, MA. Also 11 grandchildren.
Brian A. Dartt
NORMAL, ILL- Brian A. Dartt passed away suddenly on November 24, 2011 with his loving family by his side.
He was the son of the late Ernest Dartt.
He lived in Normal, ILL for two months, prior to moving to Illinois he was a lifelong resident of Millville, MA.
He served in the U.S. Army. He also worked for several years at Blue Lynx Co. in Bellingham, MA.
BELLINGHAM â A 63-year-old Blackstone man was killed Monday in a two-car accident on South Main Street, across from the Bellingham Middle School, police said.
The victim, Robert F. Kaczor, of 1 Jefferson St., was taken by ambulance to Milford Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead following the 5 p.m. accident.
The crash occurred in front of Wengerâs Farm, at 1048 South Main St.
WOONSOCKET â Landmark Medical Center is fighting back after a longstanding partner in the local health care scene decided to shift its maternity and obstetrics patients to Women & Infants Hospital in Providence.
The city hospital launched an advertising campaign to promote its in-house maternity and related services Tuesday, a day after Thundermist Health Center initiated the patient shift.
âWe are marketing our services,â said Landmark spokesman Bill Fischer. âWeâre advertising and continuing to reach out to the community about the quality of services we offer.â

WOONSOCKET- Aldor J. "Al" Lataille, 80, of Thomas St. Woonsocket, died Monday afternoon at Rhode Island Hospital as a result of injuries sustained in an accident earlier in the day. He was the husband of the late Micheline F. (San Souci) Lataille.
Born in Woonsocket, he was a son of the late Joseph and Aurore (Cote) Lataille. He was a lifelong resident of the city.
Mr. Lataille was a veteran of the US Air Force serving during the Korean War.

Robitaille
PAWTUCKET- Robitaille, Marie L. "Bertha", 95, died on Saturday at her home in Pawtucket. She was the wife of the late Joseph H. Robitaille.
Born in Woonsocket, a daughter of the late Alcidas and Emilia (LaRose) Girard, she had been a resident of Pawtucket for several years. Prior to retirement in 1978 she had been employed as a textile worker with the former Bonin Spinning Company. She was an avid bowler with the Walnut Hill Bowling group and a devoted Red Sox fan.
Yvette Altomari
BURRILLVILLE- Yvette Altomari, 84, resident of Nasonville, passed away on Monday, December 12, 2011, at Overlook Nursing Home in Pascoag.
She was born on October 19, 1927, daughter of the late Emile and Marie Louise (Bouley) Tousignant. She was the former owner and operator of Yvettes Discount Shoe store.
Yvette is survived by 3 daughters- Jeanne Pimental, Charlene Ross and Marie Picard, all of Burrillville, as well as 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
