Gardner tops local boxers on Thursday's boxing card

LINCOLN – The final installment of Classic Entertainment & Sports, Inc.’s ‘Thursday Night Fights’ series at the Twin River Event Center is this week, and for local fight fans, this will be an excellent chance to see a good group of Blackstone Valley fighters in action before 2012 comes to a close.

Mardi Gras fundraiser/dinner Oct. 24

WOONSOCKET — The Northern Rhode Island Council of the Arts is hosting a Pasta Dinner in conjunction with Catholic Financial Life, District 1 (Rhode Island and South Central Mass.) on Wednesday, Oct. 24 at the Italian Workingmen's Club, 947 Diamond Hill Road, from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m.
The dinner will be prepared by local chef Gary McLaughlin and will feature all-you-can-eat pasta, meatballs, salad, bread and more. Tickets are $8 for adults age 10 and older; $4 for children age 9 and under; and free for children age 2 and under.

Man charged with indecent exposure at Twin River

LINCOLN — A Johnston man was charged with indecent exposure/disorderly conduct in connection with an incident at the Twin River casino Wednesday afternoon.
Deputy Chief Scott W. Vincenzi reported that he was called to the casino security office for an indecent exposure incident while working a uniformed detail at about 4:25 p.m.

Yes, there are plenty of e-book websites to visit and buy the latest hot read for your device, but did you know there are also ways to download a book similar to checking one out from your local library?
Nancy Ross, assistant director of the Lincoln Public Library, says an increasing number of library patrons are taking advantage of the library's e-book lending program and she sees that interest as only increasing in the future as more people learn how to use the service.
