Often times the importance of the kicking game at the high school level can go undervalued or overlooked. Blame such shortsightedness on the premium coaches and players place on strategizing offensively and defensively throughout the week, the attention paid to more crucial matters, in turn rendering the very idea of place-kicking and punting duties influencing the final outcome to mundane qualities.

WOONSOCKET â€” Before it served city middle school students, the former Woonsocket Middle School at Park Square had quite a long history as home to Woonsocket High School and its junior high school program.
That history could soon become a film for use by schools, libraries and historical societies if two local filmmakers, Scott Gabrielson and Jason Allard have their way.
BURRILLVILLE â€” Fitch Ratings re-affirmed the town's AA municipal bond rating, which means the town will be able to secure a lower interest rate when it sells bonds to finance major projects.
Fitch Ratings is one of three private companies that rates the credit risk of companies and municipalities planning to sell debt. It has 10 â€śinvestment gradeâ€ť categories ranging from a best of AAA to BBB-. The ratings allow investors to form an opinion on whether they are likely to be repaid.
Rachel V. Dubey
BURRILLVILLE- Rachel V. (Soucy) Dubey, 79, died Monday, Sept. 24, 2012 in Pine Grove Health Center, Pascoag. She was the wife of the late Roderick P. Dubey.
Born in St. Francis, ME, she was the daughter of the late Victorie and Cesare (Michaud) Soucy.
Rachel worked as a dietary aide at Zambarano Hospital of Pascoag for many years. She also worked as a bus monitor for Nelson's Bus Company of Burrillville and for the Tri-Town Head Start Program.
Edward A. Mariani
WOONSOCKET- Edward A. Mariani, 83, of Walnut Hill Rd. died October 3rd at Woonsocket Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was the husband of the late Anna Jean (Vona) Mariani.
Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Gaetano and Francesca (Santilli) Mariani.
Edward was a meat cutter for Quinn Meat Packing Co. for over twenty years before retiring in the late seventies. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. Edward was an avid cribbage player.
GARDEN GROVE, CA- Rita Latraverse, 89, a resident of Garden Grove, Ca. died on Sept. 3, 2012, at Valley View Gardens, an Alzheimer Residential Care Home. Rita was the wife of the late Normand Latraverse.
