Donald P. Gagnon
UXBRIDGE- Donald P. Gagnon, 69 of Uxbridge, MA, formerly of North Smithfield, RI, passed away on Oct. 26, 2012, at his home after a two-year illness.
President Barack Obama signed a disaster declaration for Rhode Island early Monday morning as Gov. Lincoln Chafee requested on Sunday.
The declaration authorizes the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), to coordinate all disaster relief efforts and to provide appropriate assistance for required emergency measures to save lives and to protect property and public health and safety, and to lessen or avert the threat of a catastrophe in all five Rhode Island counties.

Deschamps
Janet Mary Deschamps, of Spring Street, Wrentham, died surrounded by her loving family on October 26, 2012 at the Maples Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Wrentham.
Born in Wrentham on July 21, 1922, she was a loving daughter of the late Guybert and Charlotte (Wheelock) Armitage.
A lifelong Wrentham resident, she had attended Wrentham Schools. Janet had been employed as a dietary aid at the former Wrentham State School, previously working at the former Woonsocket Rubber Company. She had been a longtime member of the First Universalist Church in Woonsocket.

PAWTUCKET – The past week has featured plenty of heavy lifting at McCoy Stadium. No, this particular exercise has nothing to do with removing the Governors’ Cup trophy from its on-display perch in the team store and whisking the hardware away to the latest destination on the touring caravan.
It’s less than an hour’s drive to Rhode Island College, the University of Rhode Island, and Roger Williams University, but starting tomorrow and continuing for the next two weeks, several local high school soccer, girls’ volleyball, and field hockey teams will begin their long roads towards state championship glory.
LINCOLN – Children using the Lincoln Public Library are about to get more room for their reading and activity programs thanks to an addition project now under construction.
The site work is being conducted by the Bailey Group construction management firm on town-owned land just outside the existing children’s section and periodical reading area.
Becky Boragine, library director, said the approximate 2,300-square-foot addition will provide the library with new space to help alleviate crowded conditions in the 32-year-old building.

WOONSOCKET – When the 17-year-old girl told her mother – let’s call the mom Theresa – that she wanted to join a church in Uxbridge, Mass., she thought it might signal a positive turn in the life of the emotionally troubled teen.
It was the beginning of a nightmare.
WOONSOCKET — The vision, the quickness, the bursts of acceleration … Woonsocket senior Jalen Evans was the complete package.
More important than any of the other listed attributes, Evans was the picture of perfect health. The fact he was running just as hard in the fourth quarter as he was during the opening stanza proved that he was over the knee ailment that sidelined him last week. Evans just kept on wielding the hammer, running in and around Chariho’s defense in what amounted to a 34-13 runaway performance for Woonsocket on Saturday afternoon at Barry Field.
BURRILLVILLE – As he stood before a jubilant group of Burrillville players, head coach Gennaro Ferraro raised his right index finger and emphatically pointed in the direction of the Alumni Field scoreboard.
All eyes remained dead set on Ferraro as he rattled off the words the Broncos have longed to hear: “It’s a win.”
