Prime Healthcare asks for Landmark extension

November 28, 2012

WOONSOCKET – Prime Healthcare Services has asked state regulators for more time to submit an application to acquire Landmark Medical Center.
Saying it is aware the 45-day deadline lapsed on Nov. 25, the Ontario, Calif.-based hospital chain wants two more weeks to submit the voluminous amount of paperwork required under the Hospital Conversions Act.
“Although Prime Health has been working diligently on the application, we respectfully request an extension until Dec. 10, 2010,” a two-paragraph letter from Prime’s lawyers says.

WOONSOCKET – The mountainous cache of toys and games did not originate at the North Pole, it was not created by elves, and it did not arrive by sleigh.
It was manufactured by Pawtucket-based Hasbro, Inc., and hefted up a flight of stairs by the toy giant’s employees, one shipping crate at a time, onto the creaky floor of an old spinning mill on Mendon Road.
But when underprivileged kids find the goodies under Christmas trees from Woonsocket to Westerly on the big day, no one has to know they didn’t come from Santa.
