WARWICK â Things were not looking good for Cumberland High three matches into its regular season finale against defending state team tourney champion Warwick Veterans on Wednesday evening.
The Clippers, seeking their 57th consecutive dual-meet victory and third straight unbeaten season, trailed Warwick Vets 15-0. Cumberland needed to make something happen in a hurry and Nick Tribelli answered the call with a stunning pin at 126 pounds.
âOnce we got that win from Nick, I knew we had a shot,â Cumberland coach Steve Gordon said after his Clippers rallied for a 44-29 triumph.
WOONSOCKET â State prosecutors have lodged another felony charge against former Municipal Court Aide Rachel Arruda.
Arruda, 62, of Woonsocket, now faces a count of fraudulent conversion by a municipal employee, said Amy Kempe, spokeswoman for the attorney general.
Arruda was arrested by the state police on Oct. 14 on one count of felony embezzlement. She is accused of pilfering $398,538 from the coffers of the cityâs municipal court between 2004 and 2010, when she retired. She had worked as municipal court aide since January 1987.
BURRILLVILLE â For the sixth consecutive year, the Burrillville High School robotics team has won the state robotics championship and will compete against teams from the United States, Canada and Mexico in the FIRST Tech Challenge World Robotics Championship in St. Louis, Missouri, in April.
Known as Team 154 Renegade, the Burrillville students were among 200 high school students from around the state who competed in the fourth annual FIRST Tech Challenge Feb. 4 at the New England Institute of Technology.
John S. Zinno
BELLINGHAM- John S. Zinno, 61, of Bellingham, MA passed away on Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at Landmark Medical Center.
Born in Milford, MA on April 8, 1950, he was the son of the late John and Mary (Dobbie) Zinno.
He was the brother of Shelley Marie Savage of South Windsor, CT, Victoria Sylvester of Northfield, NH, David Zinno and his wife Denise of Mendon, MA. He leaves his nephews and niece, Kenneth Savage, Stephany Zinno and the late Nicholas Zinno. He was the former husband of Therese (Gareau) Barry.
Bernard A. Trimble
BURRILLVILLE- Bernard A. "Zip" Trimble, 94, died Monday Feb. 13, 2012 in Overlook Nursing Home, Pascoag. He was the husband of the late Beatrice M. (Brissette) Trimble.
Born in Pascoag he was the son of the late William and Olivine (Rabitor) Trimble.
Bernard worked for Pratt & Whitney of Hartford, CT, for many years as a Machinist before retiring. He was an Army Veteran of WWII, serving three tours of duty overseas, as a Heavy Mortar Crewman for Company B 394th Infantry Regiment. Before serving in the Army he worked in area mills as a Yarn Winder.

SANTA FE, NEW MEXICO- Georgette Henrietta Allard (Trahan) passed away on February 13th, 2012 in Santa Fe, New Mexico at the age of 89.
She was born on January 8th, 1923 in Danielson, CT. She was the daughter of Adelard and Otilie Trahan and grew up in Woonsocket.
She is survived by her loving husband of 69 years Richard T. Allard, three children, nine grandchildren, and thirteen great-grandchildren.
