Woonsocket girls nip Barrington for big victory

February 2, 2012

BARRINGTON – Woonsocket scored one of its most satisfying victories of the season on Thursday night, rallying from an early 7-0 deficit to edge Barrington 48-43 and take over second place in Division I-North.
Kailey Fugere scored 30 points and Michelle Brayboy added 13 for the Villa Novans, who are now 9-3 and have won their last six league games. The victory avenged an early-season 51-32 loss to Barrington on Woonsocket’s home court.
Fugere added 11 rebounds and netted the decisive basket with 40 seconds left to play as Woonsocket took a 48-43 lead and then held on for the win.

LINCOLN — Central Elementary School fourth-grader Maggie Cabana didn't want to let down her fellow students, so she decided to prepare her Wednesday lunch the night before.
“I made it at about 7:30 (p.m.); I made my peanut butter crackers, strawberries and an orange with the peel taken off, then put them all in plastic containers,” she admitted. “I did it so I wouldn't forget anything. I was scared that I'd put it into plastic bags. I didn't want to forget that's against the rules (for this lunch).”
