EMIL J. KOSIOR
BLACKSTONE- Emil J. Kosior, 92, of Blackstone, passed away on Friday at Landmark Medical Center after a short illness.
He was the husband of the late Merriom (Ellsey) Kosior. Born Oct. 11, 1919 in Woonsocket, he was the son of
the late Joseph & Helen (Kopacz) Kosior, he was a life long resident of Blackstone. For 50 years he was the owner &
operator of Emil's Repair & Service Station in Blackstone before retiring. He was a past member of the Blackstone Police
Roger L. Gelinas
WOONSOCKET- Roger L. Gelinas, 64, of Woonsocket, died Friday at Trinity Health Center. He was the loving husband of Florence T. (Nadeau) Gelinas.
Born in Woonsocket, he was a son of the late Roger E. and Claire (Lafrenniere) Gelinas. He remained a lifelong resident of the city.
Mr. Gelinas was a graduate of Woonsocket High School and earned his degree from Johnson & Wales University.
He was employed by Blackstone Valley Security and previously worked at Superior Health Care Corporation.

Cassandra Sherman may be only 17 years old, but the North Smithfield native has seen more of New England, New York state, and eastern Canada than the average adult three times her age has.
She’s seen plenty of southern New England during her days in youth hockey, and she’s played in every hockey arena in this state during her freshman and sophomore seasons on the North Smithfield High girls’ team.
WOONSOCKET — The School Committee appears headed toward another difficult session on Wednesday, this time for an expected debate on whether to seek a State Police investigation into its budgeting errors and a reported language lapse in a school department employment contract.
David D. Koohy's introduction to Kiwanis International came two decades ago when he volunteered to flip burgers and pour beers at the Kiwanis Club of Newport's food concession stand at the Newport Yachting Center.
The club members were so impressed with his enthusiasm, they invited him back to help out at the next waterfront festival.

All-State Music Festival to be held Sunday at the Veterans Memorial Auditorium in Providence. Joining them will be Woonsocket Middle School student Emily Taft, not pictured. The festival, sponsored by the R.I. Music Educators Association, is a great opportunity for students to perform with some of the most talented musicians in the state.
PROVIDENCE – On the order of a Superior Court judge, Landmark Medical Center and Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Rhode Island have agreed to enter mediation in attempts to settle their dueling lawsuits over reimbursements.

Ronald L. Pinette
WOONSOCKET- Ronald L. Pinette Sr. 85, died Friday March 16, 2012, in ST. Antoine Residence, with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Murielle (Malboeuf) Pinette.
Born in Biddeford, Maine, son of late Joseph and Rose (Boutin) Pinette.
He was Unites States Navy Veteran serving in WWII.
Mr. Pinette worked as a Freight Conductor for Conrail for several years prior to retiring.
He was a former member of Amvets Post 7, and the Elks BPOE # 850
