PAWTUCKET --- A few pitchers who could find themselves with the Boston Red Sox in the very near future stated their cases for a promotion on Monday night in the Pawtucket Red Soxâ€™s doubleheader with the Durham Bulls.
In the opener, starting pitcher Justin Germano and rehabbing Boston Red Sox reliever Andrew Miller teamed up to blank Durham on three singles, and run-scoring singles by Mike Rivera and Tony Thomas provided all the offense in a 2-0 victory.
WOONSOCKET â€“ The thorny constitutional principle of separation of church and state is rearing its head over a 1921 World War I monument featuring a prominent Christian cross on city property.
Unlike the recent prayer banner controversy in Cranston, which was sued by the state chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union, the threat of legal action in this case is coming from the Freedom From Religion Foundation, a national nonprofit organization halfway across the country.
Eileen M. Berard
BURRILLVILLE- Eileen M. Berard, 80, lifelong resident of Nasonville, passed away on Saturday, April 21, 2012, at the Home and Hospice Care of Rhode Island, Phillip Hulitar Inpatient Care Unit.
She was born in Woonsocket, a daughter of the late James and Edith (Ferris) Murphy.
Loving wife to the late Gerard "Bug a boo" Berard.
Ronald W. Nault
POMPANO BEACH, FL- Nault, Ronald W., 61, of Pompano Beach, FL died April 9, 2012. He was the husband of Elizabeth (Taylor) Nault.
Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of the late Marcel Nault and Jeanne (Lafreniere) Beaulieu.
Ron was a marine veteran of the Viet Nam War. He worked for the Laborers International Union of North America for many years.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter Natalie Nault of Cranston, stepson Leigh Gilbert of Burrillville, brother Robert Nault of North Smithfield , and grandson Caleb Gilbert.
Juliette I. Guay
LINCOLN/MANVILLE- Juliette I. Guay, 72, of Manville, R.I. passed away on Wednesday at home. A daughter of the late Hubert Guay and Ernestine (Paradis) Guay, she was born on May 17, 1939 in Woonsocket, R.I.
She was employed for 29 years by the State of R.I., formerly T.D.I. Division. After retirement, she volunteered for ten years as a reading coach in elementary schools in Woonsocket and Northern Lincoln. Julie was a member of the St. John Vianney Prayer Group, and was a communicant of St. James Catholic Church in Manville.

UXBRIDGE/CHEPACHET- Marion M. (Bousquet) Jacques, 88, of Chapachet, RI formerly of E. Hartford Ave. died Sat. April 21, after an illness at Overlook Nursing & Rehab Center.
James D. Giambazi
CUMBERLAND- James Dimitri Giambazi, 82, passed away on Friday, April 20, 2012.
Born in Central Falls, RI on August 22, 1929, he was a Cumberland resident for over 40 years.
The son of the late Costa and Florence (Docu) Giambazi, he was the husband of the late Barbara (Howard) and is survived by his son Michael and his wife, Diane of North Providence, RI, his daughter Gail McCarthy, wife of the late James McCarthy of Richmond, RI, and two grandchildren Brynn and Nicholas McCarthy.
Emerson C. Eldredge
BELLINGHAM- Emerson C. "Cappy" Eldredge, 93, of Bellingham, MA passed away peacefully on Friday, April 20, 2012 at Milford Care & Rehabilitation with his loving family by his side. He was the beloved husband of the late Virginia M. (MacDougall) Eldredge.

DOUGLAS/UXBRIDGE- Michael E. Nelson, 68 longtime Douglas and Uxbridge resident died unexpectedly at home on Wed. April 18. His wife Jean M. (Sampson) Nelson died in 1999.
PAWTUCKET-- Mary F. (Bacon) Drolet-Morrison, 69, of Gill Ave. died, Tuesday, April 17, 2012 in Pawtucket Memorial Hospital, with her family by her side. She was the wife of the late Donald Drolet and William Morrison.
Born in Woonsocket, daughter of the late Emile and Frances (Ryan) Bacon.
Mary worked as a machine operator for TECH Industries, for 20 years prior to retiring.
