Mortensen takes demotion to PawSox in stride

PAWTUCKET — Despite posting downright gaudy numbers in his shortlived Red Sox stint, Clayton Mortensen was farmed out to Pawtucket because of one simple yet often overlooked factoid.
He still has minor-league options remaining.
Guys like Mortensen, they perform a service akin to a security blanket. To the big-league teams, to have a player with options still on the table, creates the kind of roster flexibility that can prove most handy.

BELLINGHAM- Brad R. Dorval, 51, of Bellingham, MA passed away on Saturday, May 5, 2012 at Landmark Medical Center.
Born on August 30, 1960, he was the son of Robert L. Dorval of Greenville, RI and the late Doris I. (Auclair) Dorval.
He was the brother of Joanne L. Lefevre and her husband, Joseph of Foster, RI, Richard R. Dorval and his wife, Linda of Scituate, RI, Roy L. Dorval and his wife, Linda of Ashland, MA, Keith R. Dorval and his wife, Dorothea of Mansfield, MA; and his nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Jean Paul Theroux

CUMBERLAND- Jean Paul (John) Theroux, 87, of Jencks Rd., Cumberland, died May 10, 2012 in Landmark Medical Center, Woonsocket. He was the husband of Loretta J. (Coderre) Theroux, whom he married June 30, 1947.
Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of the late Jacob and Matilda (Giguere) Theroux.
A WWII Army Veteran, Mr. Theroux worked as a maintenance engineer for Color Technology, Westboro, MA. John was a master of all trades, was always the first to help someone in need, was an avid horseman and loved to spend time on his farm with his family.
