NORTH SMITHFIELD -- Head coach Tom Bourgeois had told his lone starting senior, Sidra Ethier, that if she had to miss North Smithfield Highâs home clash against Woonsocket on Monday, he more than understood.
After all, Ethier â ranked second in her class â was to accept a National Honor Society award later that afternoon, and he knew she had to properly prepare for the fete.
âShe wanted to be here,â Bourgeois stated. âShe told me, âNo, Coach. Iâm playing! Itâs our Senior Day, and Iâm going to be a part of it.ââ
Reina M. Forget
WOONSOCKET- Reina M. (Lacroix) Forget, 93 of 4 St. Joseph St. died Sunday at Landmark Medical Center. She was the wife of the late Donat Forget.
Mrs. Forget was born in Canada, before moving to Woonsocket where she lived for most of her life. She was a homemaker and the mother of Dennis Forget of Woonsocket and the late Gil and Donald Forget.
Leo l. Delaurier
WOONSOCKET- Leo L. Delaurier, 84, of Elm St., died Friday May 18, 2012 in the St. Antoine Residence, with his family by his side. He was the husband of Dorothy ( Doura) Delaurier.
Born in Stafford Springs, Connecticut, son of the late Jonas and Catherine (Monahan).
Mr. Delaurier worked as a Foreman for Drapers for 20 years and also as a Maintenance man at Providence College for 15 years prior to retiring.
Gertrude B. Kane
WOONSOCKET- Gertrude B. (Benjamin) Kane, 92, of Woonsocket, died May 16, 2012 in St. Antoine Residence, No. Smithfield. Her husband of 34 years, Walter J. Kane, died in 1983.
Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late Elyse and Gladys (Fitzgerald) Benjamin.
Rita M. Delasanta
WOONSOCKET- Rita M. (Donati) Delasanta, 101, of St. Cecile Ave. died, Thursday May 17, 2012 in the Trinity Health Center, with her family by her side. She was the wife of the late Duelio Delasanta.
Born in Pesaro Italy, daughter of the late Giuseppe and Catherina (Mengarelli) Donati. Rita came to the United States at the age of two, and resided in Woonsocket since that time.
She worked as a Baker for Leo's Bakery for 17 years prior to retiring.
She was a former member of the Italian Workingmen's Club, St. Joseph Senior Citizens, and the Marchigiano Club.
Harold W. Hunt
NORTH SMITHFIELD- Harold W. Rusty Hunt, 53, of No. Smithfield, passed away peacefully on Saturday at the Home & Hospice Care Ctr. in Providence. He was the loving husband of Nancy (Reynolds) Hunt.
Born, Sept. 15, 1958 in El Paso, TX., he was the son of the late Harold A. & Margaret (Marmaud) Hunt.
He was a member of the Polish American Club in Blackstone, he loved plant & vegetable gardening, he was a avid cook & fisherman, but most of all he loved spending time with family. He will be missed dearly by everyone.
Elizabeth A. Walsh
LINWOOD, MA- Elizabeth A. (Betty Ann) Walsh, 64, of Church Street, Linwood, MA died Friday, May 18, 2012 at home.
Born in Woonsocket, RI, she was the daughter of the late Richard V. and Katherine T. (Whalen) Walsh.
For the past 20 years Betty Ann was affiliated with Alternatives Unlimited in Whitinsville, MA. She was also a member of the Uxbridge Women's Club.
