Sandusky found guilty of sexual abuse!

BELLEFONTE, Pa. (AP) — Jerry Sandusky was convicted Friday of sexually assaulting 10 boys over 15 years, accusations that shattered the Happy Valley image of Penn State football and led to the firing of Hall of Fame coach Joe Paterno.
Sandusky, a 68-year-old retired defensive coach who was once Paterno's heir apparent, was found guilty of 45 of 48 counts.

Statue of late owner completes Mondor Gardens

PAWTUCKET — As tranquil and serene Mondor Gardens is, something was missing. That “something” was a remembrance designed specifically to preserve the memory of late Pawtucket Red Sox owner Ben Mondor.
Upon agreeing that a statue would prove fitting, PawSox President Mike Tamburro and General Manager Lou Schwechheimer reached out to the only person they felt would capture Mondor in the light that would display his affinity for PawSox baseball.
Turns out that someone was a familiar face – Carol “Tayo” Heuser, a lady whose artistic talents are on display throughout McCoy Stadium.

Bertha R. Montiero

MANVILLE -- Bertha R. Monteiro, 76, of Spring St. died Thursday, June 21, 2012 in Landmark Medical Center, with her family by her side.
She was the wife of the late Earl "Mickey" Montiero.
Born in Newport, R.I. daughter of the late Miguel and Florence (Chabot) Monteiro. Bertha lived in Cumberland most of her life moving to Manville in 1995.
