Dennis Caron
WOONSOCKET- Dennis Caron, 57, of Waterview Apts., Woonsocket, passed away at Philip Hulitar House on June 9, 2012. He was the beloved husband of Beverly (Hanson) Caron for 30 years.
Son of Mary (Saporito) Caron of FL and the late Eugene Caron.
Besides his wife, he is survived by 2 daughters Brooke Caron, Chelsea Caron and a son Eric Caron, 5 grandchildren Eric Jr., Jayden, William, Lucas and Sabato, 3 sisters Snooke Niquette of FL, Diane Hovey of Glocester, and Linda Turcotte of Uxbridge, 1 brother Peter Caron of FL.
Raymond E. Pouliot
PASCOAG- Raymond E. Pouliot, 89, of Pascoag, died June 13, 2012 at Bayberry Commons in Pascoag. He was the husband of Rolande T. (Lamoureux) Pouliot whom he married May 04, 1946.
Born in Blackstone, MA, he was the son of the late Edward J. and Mary A. (Therrien) Pouliot.
Mr. Pouliot worked as a floor covering expert for many years and as a custodian for the Burrillville School Department from which he retired. Raymond was an army veteran serving during World War II.
Joseph J.B. Parenteau
WOONSOCKET- Joseph J.B. Parenteau 83, formerly of Chester St., died Monday, June 11, in the Woonsocket Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was the husband of Cecile (Gaudet) Parenteau.
He was born in Woonsocket, a son of the late Joseph and Sarah (Cardin) Parenteau.
Mr. Parenteau was a U.S. Army veteran serving in Germany, Post World War II as an MP. He was a concrete foreman for the former Val's Construction for thirty seven years retiring in 1990. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
WOONSOCKET â The School Committee voted 4-1 Wednesday night to ask the state of Rhode Island to take control of the cityâs cash-strapped public education system.
The School Committee will send a letter to Education Commissioner Deborah Gist saying it canât operate with available funds and still comply with the state-mandated Basic Education Plan.
âOur fiduciary responsibility is to both educate Woonsocketâs approximately six thousand youths while also operating with a balanced budget,â the letter says. âThis simply cannot be done.â

WOONSOCKET â Andre Soukhamthath just wrapped up a very productive camp at Tri-Force MMA in Pawtucket.
The 24-year-old Woonsocket bantamweight will be fighting for the first time under the Classic Entertainment & Sports, Inc. banner, and heâs a handful of pounds away from making his weight for his upcoming fight.
Now if only he had a scouting report on his opponent.
PAWTUCKET â From his dugout vantage point, Rich Sauveur saw something in Daniel Bardâs delivery that was fixable while the pitcher was toeing the rubber â providing that the PawSox pitching coach could grab the attention of catcher Ryan Lavarnway.
WOONSOCKET (Courtesy WPRI) - A city man is fighting for his life after being struck in the head with a brick early Saturday morning.
According to police, Brian Hicks and three friends were walking near Walnut Hill when someone drove by in a gold truck and threw a brick out the window, hitting Hicks in the head.
"Whoever did this is an animal we want this guy caught," said Hicks' father Russell, according to WPRI.
Doctors say Hicks is battling a severe head injury. He's had multiple surgeries, but so far shown no sign of consciousness. Doctors say they aren't sure what the outcome will be.

Baril
WOONSOCKET- Joseph Normand Baril 87, of 100 Front St., died Monday at Woonsocket Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Born in Woonsocket, he was a son of the late Ernest and Florence (Morel) Baril.
Joseph was a clerk for Woonsocket Motor Inn for over ten years, he also worked as a custodian at the former Ames Department Store for five years.
Roland J. Benoit
Roland J. "Uncle Ben" Benoit, 87, of Bellingham, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 9, 2012 at home with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband for 53 years of Jeanne M. (D'Arc) Benoit.
Born in Woonsocket on December 28, 1924, he was the son of the late Ferdinand and Cecilia (Roberge) Benoit.
He was the brother of Armand Benoit and his wife, Lucille of Hemet, CA, and the late Rene Benoit. He leaves his many cherished nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and his special little friend Dylan.
Raymond J. Bouley
WOODBURY- Raymond J. Bouley, 87, a resident of Woodbury, Conn., and former resident of Heritage Village in Southbury, died on Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at Waterbury Hospital after suffering a stroke. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Barbara J. Bouley.
