Burrillville bounced from Little League states

LINCOLN — The Burrillville All-Stars may have taken a quick exit at this R.I. Little League Major Division Tournament, that after suffering an 11-9 losers' bracket elimination loss to Cranston Western late Sunday afternoon, but skipper Mike Cabral nevertheless mustered a smile afterward.
He had every reason, as his crew entered the top half of the sixth frame trailing 11-4, but manufactured five runs while causing their opponent's coaching staff fits.

Fire at Chateau Clare displaces 30

Woonsocket firefighters sift through the rubble in Room 209 at Chateau Clare on Park Avenue in Woonsocket Sunday morning where a fire was reported. Roughly 30 residents were evacuated and asked to go to St. James Parish Hall across the street to await further
instructions. Mary Sene, a resident who suffers from COPD, was taken to Landmark Medical Center to be treated for difficulty breathing. Firefighters knocked down the wall to her apartment while battling the blaze, which is believed to have started around 5:30 a.m., according to a witness. The Red Cross was on scene to assist.

Crash claims life of Warwick woman

BELLINGHAM — A 30-year-old Warwick woman was killed and her passenger — a 31-year-old Harrisville man —was seriously injured following a car crash early Sunday.
Emergency crews from Bellingham and Woonsocket were called to the scene on Paine Street at about 1:30 a.m., according to WPRI-TV.
The driver, Jessie Crum, and her passenger, Joshua Champagne, were trapped inside an SUV that had rolled over into a tree in front of the New England Country Club in Bellingham. They were eventually cut free by the Jaws of Life, WPRI reported.
