PAWTUCKET – Believe it or not, pitchers do gain velocity as the season deepens. In the case of Josh Fields, the spike in the right-hander’s radar gun readings have proven most dramatic – not to mention raise eyebrows.
These days a fixture in Pawtucket’s bullpen, Fields generally sits at 93-95 miles per hour with his fastball occasionally touching 96 mph.

PINEHURST, NC- Betty J. Desjardins, 84 of Pinehurst, NC died August 29, 2012 at her residence.
Inurnment will be held by the family at Pinelawn Memorial Park at a future date.
Born in Chicago, IL to the late Jesse and Elizabeth Fauth Bauer, she graduated from George Rogers Clark High School in Hammond, Ind. She married her husband Robert on January 14, 1967 in Honolulu, HI., and traveled extensively abroad with him during a 28 year military career. A staunch Republican, she held many state level positions in the Hawaii Republican Party.
