PawSox honor Labossiere for 40 years of service

PAWTUCKET — There was Paul Labossiere, as usual focused on the task at hand inside the McCoy Stadium ticket office. To this Central Falls native and current Lincoln resident, Labor Day Monday was typical – no deviation in the slightest from the previous 71 PawSox home dates in the 2012 season, or the 39 years of loyal service that preceded this one.

BLACKSTONE- Richard A. Ravenelle, Jr. 52, of Ives St., died Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at home.
Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of Richard and Christina (Rawlings) Ravenelle, Sr. of Providence and the late Dorothy (Audette) Ravenelle.
Mr. Ravenelle worked in construction for various companies over the years. He loved all sports and, in particular, he loved riding his mortorcycle.

Towns talk emergency management preparedness

NORTH SMITHFIELD — The North Smithfield Emergency Management Association (EMA) has begun collaborative talks with agencies in Burrillville, Glocester and Smithfield with the goal of sharing staff and pooling resources as a regional emergency management team to help residents in the three communities weather storms and other emergency situations.
The first of several monthly meetings was held recently at the North Smithfield Town Hall to address current needs and future objectives, North Smithfield Town Administrator and Public Safety Director Paulette D. Hamilton said Wednesday.

Landmark, BC/BS reach accord

WOONSOCKET – Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Rhode Island and Landmark Medical Center have reached an agreement to extend their existing reimbursement contract, ending the threat that the health insurer’s members would not be covered for services rendered at the hospital.
Provided the pact is approved by the Superior Court – a hearing is scheduled for Wednesday – Blue Cross will honor the terms of its existing reimbursement agreement with Landmark until Dec. 31, or 90 days after Steward Health Care purchases the hospital, whichever comes first.
