SOMERSET, KY- Peter E. Goulet 63, formerly of Blackstone, died Monday, December 10, in the Cumberland Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility, Somerset, KY, surrounded by his loving family. Funeral Services are under the direction of the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, and are pending at this time.
Walter Chomka
CUMBERLAND- Chomka, Walter, 82, of Cumberland, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family, Tuesday, December 11, 2012. He was the beloved husband of Sarah (Higgins) Chomka. They were happily married for fifty nine years.
Born in Cumberland, he was the son of the late Michael and Michaelena (Ciolkowska) Chomka.

WOONSOCKET — The History Channel better look out — its Pawn Stars reality show may be getting some competition from a real life pawnshop drama playing out in this town.
Call it Pawn Wars.
The battle kicked into high gear again yesterday after Fall River-based Spindle City Pawnbrokers upped the ante in its bid to secure a Main Street pawnbrokers license.
WOONSOCKET — It was almost an example of military organization and efficiency as the Adopt-a-Family drive began its distribution of holiday gifts to needy Woonsocket families this week at the Elk’s Hall on Social Street.
Volunteers carefully checked delivered bags of donated gifts against the master list of eligible recipients prepared by Family Resources Community Action to make sure the proper number of presents had been assembled.
PAWTUCKET – The next manager of the Pawtucket Red Sox is a familiar face to New England baseball fans.
A baseball source confirmed Tuesday that former big-league infielder Gary DiSarcina will be formally introduced as the PawSox’ skipper at a press conference scheduled for Friday at McCoy Stadium. The 45-year-old DiSarcina replaces Arnie Beyeler, who was named Boston’s first-base coach last month.
William J. Lambert
CUMBERLAND- William J. Lambert, 92, of Diamond Hill Road, passed away Sunday, December 9, 2012 at home surrounded by his loving famiy. He was the beloved husband of Jeannette (Cloutier) Lambert, and they had been married for 64 years.
Born in Pawtucket, he was the son of the late Joseph A. and Edith (Raymond) Lambert. He resided in Cumberland for over 60 years.
Mr. Lambert was a United States Army Air Corps, serving during World War II, attaining the rank of Tech. Sergeant, and he was a member of the 325th Fighter Group.
Rita L. Recore
SLATERSVILLE, RI- Rita L. (Parent) Recore, 80, of Slatersville, RI passed away on Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at Landmark Medical Center. She was the wife of Omer H. Recore, Sr. of North Smithfield, RI.
Born in Burrillville, RI on July 4, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Hormidas and Roseanna (Berard) Parent.
Leo R. Bissonnette
WOONSOCKET- Leo R. Bissonnette, of Woonsocket, passed away peacefully at home December 11, 2012.
Robert D. Bergeron
WOONSOCKET- Robert D. Bergeron 102, of Gaulin Ave. died Monday at Landmark Medical Center. He was the husband of the late Marie (Bourassa) Bergeron.
Born in St. Robert, P. Q. Canada, he was a son of the late Joseph and Malvina (St. Michel) Bergeron.
Mr. Bergeron worked as a maintenance man for Miller Electric Co. and later Carol Cable for a total of twenty seven years.
He was very fond of his cats especially Eric.

WOONSOCKET — Thanks to some conscientious motorists equipped with cell phones, the cops had the drop on two impaired motorists this weekend, but not soon enough to keep them from causing accidents.
On Saturday, a Plainville, Mass., man police suspect of driving under the influence of heroin struck an oncoming car on Cumberland Street about 6:40 p.m.
Duane A. Gero, 33, was charged with duty to stop resulting in damage to an attended vehicle, driving under the influence of liquor or intoxicating substance, laned roadway violations, operating left of center and failure to wear a seatbelt.
