CUMBERLAND — The Arnold Mills United Methodist Church will hold a special memorial New Year's Eve worship service on Monday in remembrance of those who lost their lives in the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting in Newtown, Conn.
Led by the Rev. Lynn McCracken, the service will be "a time of remembrance surrounding the tragic loss of life from the recent Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting in Newtown, Conn., as well as a reflection for the new year ahead," McCracken said.
Constance A. Kluit
BELLINGHAM- Constance A. (Aangeenbrug) Kluit, 82, of Bellingham, MA passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 25, 2012 at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Center, Providence, RI with loving family by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Willem H. Kluit.
Born in Sassenheim, Netherlands on May 30, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Willem Aangeenbrug and Arina (van Ginhoven) van Voorst.
Mary Ellen Bliss
WOONSOCKET- Mary Ellen (Harvey) Bliss, 95, of Woonsocket, died Wednesday, December 26, 2012 in the Ballou Home. She was the wife of the late Joseph Ambrose Bliss.
Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late Charles W. and Agnes (Daniels) Harvey.

SMITHFIELD — Prior to facing Davies Tech in a Red Division tilt of the 26th annual Rhode Island Board of Girls Basketball Officials/Smithfield Boosters Club Holiday Classic on Wednesday afternoon, Burrillville High head coach Lindsay Rachlow asked her players to work on what she deemed a few weaknesses.
They included more attention to finding the open girl and rebounding.
She saw some improvements in both as the Broncos crushed the Patriots, 54-23, at Smithfield High’s gymnasium, the long-term site of the event.
LINCOLN — A Woonsocket man faces a charge of drunken driving after allegedly driving onto the wrong on-ramp to Route 116 early Saturday morning.
Patrolman Richard J. Bousquet reported responding to an accident at that location and found Dana W. Braley, 50, of Papineau Avenue, Woonsocket, sitting on the grass at the side of the vehicle, highly intoxicated.

Nancy L. Alward
WOONSOCKET- Nancy L. Alward 67, resident of Woonsocket, passed away December 24, 2012 at her residence.
She was born March 11, 1945 in Framingham MA, a daughter of the late Charles & Dorothy (Hunt) Alward.
Nancy worked for the Jill Realty for 14 years previously she worked for the City of Woonsocket in the city hall department. She lived most of her life in Woonsocket.
She is survived by her children Gregory and Barry Girard, Roxanne Raiche and Shelly Heldenbergh all of Woonsocket, 14 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Pauline T. Laquerre
WOONSOCKET- Pauline T. (Guertin) Laquerre, 85, of Elmore Ave., died December 26, 2012 in The Friendly Home. She was the wife of the late Emile J. Laquerre.
Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Lillian (Lareau) Guertin.
Mrs. Laquerre worked twenty-five years as a High School Lunch Aid for Woonsocket and Burrillville, retiring in 1991. She was a communicant of Our Lady Queen of Martyr's Church, Woonsocket.
Theresa M. Levitre
BLACKSTONE- Theresa M. Levitre, 90, of Blackstone, MA died Friday, December 20, 2012. She was the wife of Robert G. Levitre.
She was born in Blackstone, MA, daughter of the late Gaetano and Petrina (DelPozzo) Cortellessa.
Mrs. Levitre worked at the former Blackstone Cotton Mill before staying at home to raise her family in Blackstone, MA.
