A little of this, a little of that …

Wake me when it’s Tuesday – the day Terry Francona’s juicy and highly anticipated book is scheduled to hit the shelves.
Not a moment too soon.
Look, I understand the importance of publicizing and spreading the word to the masses that there’s something on the immediate horizon that you may want to check out. The particular PR campaign for Francona’s 368-page opus has me a tad confused, however.

Pats beat the Ravens! (in Financial Football, that is)

CUMBERLAND — The New England Patriots dominated Baltimore, shutting out the Ravens, 26-0.
At least that was the outcome of the "Financial Football" game played one morning this past week in Renee DeRosier's personal finance class at Cumberland High School.
Secretary of State A. Ralph Mollis served as honorary coach for a team of teens that scored a virtual victory as a hopeful preview of the Patriots real playoff game tonight.

Where Christmas trees go to die... and create new life

WOONSOCKET – Highway Supt. Rick Lambert was on his way to tend to an emergency boiler problem when he came upon it, tossed unceremoniously to the curb like an ordinary piece of litter, the merriment all but expunged from its branches.
It was a Christmas tree, of course, but the timing was so wrong he had to chuckle.
“It was Christmas morning,” Lambert recalled. “They were already done with their Christmas tree. It was out the door.”
