'Own goal' helps Lincoln soccer team nip MSC, 1-0

WOONSOCKET — Minutes following Mount St. Charles’ 1-0 loss to fellow Division II stalwart Lincoln High on Friday afternoon, head coach Paul Jacques worried not so much about the verdict but the health of junior keeper Ben Weiss.
With 17:30 remaining in the opening half, Lions’ senior tri-captain Alex D’Aloisio fired a pass from the deep left corner toward Weiss as he guarded the net. The liner got through the defense, and Weiss deflected the ball away, but went down in a heap.

PALM BAY, FLORIDA- Rene Longtin, 80, of Palm Bay, Florida and formerly of Blackstone, MA, passed away at home on October 9, 2013 after a lengthy illness, surrounded by his loving family.
He was the son of William and Rosanna (Cayer) Longtin.
He is survived by his wife Gail (Eastwood) Longtin, two daughters Laurie (Longtin) Martinetty and Joyce Longtin, three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren all of Palm Bay, two sisters Dorothy (Longtin) Kross of Cumberland, RI and Faith (Longtin) Gaudet of Woonsocket, RI as well as many nieces and nephews.
