Tiverton stuns Mount in double OT in girls' soccer playoffs

WOONSOCKET -- It was hard to tell if Mount St. Charles’ head coach Marek Wolny’s post-game words to his girls did the trick or not.

The seventh-seeded Mounties had just suffered a disappointing 1-0 double-overtime loss to No. 10 Tiverton at the lower campus field on Tuesday afternoon, but – after congratulating the Tigers and the officials with hand slaps and/or fist bumps for a job well done – Wolny huddled his troops and attempted some calming devices.

Controversial haunted house comes down

WOONSOCKET – After a visit from state fire marshals yesterday, Dave Densmore did something he had vowed not to, despite an order from city inspectors: tear down the haunted Halloween maze he built on his property.

He wasn’t happy about it.

“They shut me down,” snapped Densmore, standing on a ladder as he ripped off pieces of the roof, made from a black plastic tarp. “The city couldn’t do it. The state fire marshal ordered us to do it.”

Born in Norwood, Mass, daughter of the late Arthur and Marlene (McDevitt) Saucier – Corkins.
Karlene worked as a Phlebotomist, for Landmark Medical Center and the R.I. Blood Bank for several years.
