PROVIDENCE -- Ed Cooley and his Providence College Friars ended up playing eight games in November. It nevertheless seemed that all took a backseat to the reoccurring storylines and hot topics that remain just as fervent as the calendar flips to the second month of the college basketball season.

BELLINGHAM- Theresa M. (Antaya) Bokoski, 86, of Bellingham, MA passed away on Sunday, November 24, 2013 at Milford Regional Medical Center with her family by her side. She was the beloved wife for 64 years of Francis J. Bokoski.
Born in Slatersville, RI on October 2, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Narcisse and Rose Alba Antaya.

Wayne W. Rawson, 65, passed away on Wednesday November 27, 2013 at his home.
Wayne was born on January 30, 1948 in Providence, R.I. and was the son of the late Waldo and Gladys (Daughtery) Rawson.
Wayne served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. He had been employed by Pratt and Whitney for 30 years, retiring from there.

WOONSOCKET – Ending weeks of speculation, Mayor-elect Lisa Baldelli-Hunt has announced who the key members of her administration will be, a list that includes a few surprises.
One of the biggest is the return of former Planning Director Joel D. Mathews. Except for a brief hiatus during the 1980s, Mathews had worked continuously for the city from 1973 to 2011. Trained as a landscape architect, he gained a reputation as a special projects manager and all-around problem-solver during the era of former Mayor Susan D. Menard.
