WOONSOCKET- Antonio Montefusco, 82, of Logee St. died peacefully, Thursday January 10, 2013 With his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Maria L. (Salvatore) Montefusco. Antonio and Maria celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary September 26, 2012.
Born in Luciano, Italy, son of the late Vincenzo and Carmela (Claudio) Montefusco.
He worked as a Class II fireman in the boiler room at Wrentham State School for 24 years prior to retiring.

CUMBERLAND — As Warwick Vets High compiled consecutive wins and pins in the earlier segments of this Division I-North showdown Thursday evening, Cumberland High junior Matt Kay’s level of nervous butterflies increased five-fold per battle.
When it came time for him to take the mat against fellow 220-pounder and Hurricanes’ sophomore James Gogan, and his Clippers trailing 36-30, Kay’s anxiety reached its peak.

WOONSOCKET- Rita Simone Houle, 76 of Woonsocket passed away on January 9, 2013 in the Trinity Health and Rehabilitation Center in Woonsocket.
Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late Wilfred and Mary-Jane (Raymond) Maurice.
Rita was a life long city resident and worked as a seamstress/stitcher for 31 years for Finklestein, Rayco Co. and finally with Needlecraft. She was a member of St. Josephs Veterans Association and the Club Lafayette Association. Rita was an avid Bingo and card player.

NORTH SMITHFIELD- Pamelia A. Roberge, 86, of St. Paul St., died January 8, 2013 in Landmark Medical Center, Woonsocket.
Born in Dover, NH, she was the daughter of the late Alfred J. and Florence (Hanscom) Roberge.
Ms. Roberge worked as a Registered Nurse for Woonsocket Hospital, retiring in 1987. She received a B.S. in Professional Arts in Nursing from St. Joseph's College in Maine in 1949.
She is survived by her paternal cousin, Mary Lou Turcotte of South Berwick, ME. She was the sister of the late Alfred Roberge, Jr.

BURRILLVILLE- Audrey A. (Allard) Wright, 69, of Round Top Rd., died January 8, 2013 in Landmark Medical Center, Woonsocket. She was the wife of Alfred Wright whom she married March 4, 1968.
Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late Ernest F. and Florence R. (Peloquin) Allard.

BURRILLVILLE- Phyllis L. (Gabrielson) Presbrey, 81, died Wednesday, January 9, 2013 in Overlook Nursing Home, Pascoag. She was the wife of Raymond E. Presbrey, whom she married Oct. 17, 1953.
Born in Glendale she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Loretta (Bonin) Gabrielson.

NORTH SMITHFIELD- Stephanie Bissonnette, 98, formerly of Woonsocket Hill Road, died Monday, January 7, 2013 at Scalabrini Villa in North Kingstown. She was the wife of the late Harold Bissonnette.
Born in Manchaug, MA, she was the daughter of the late Ludwig and Antonia (Ziemba) Holubesko.
Mrs. Bissonnette had worked as a clerk for twenty years at Wrights Dairy Farm. She had also done housekeeping at the Holy Family Rectory for seven years.

WOONSOCKET- Paul E. Girard, 80, formerly of Park Ave., Woonsocket, died Tuesday morning at The Friendly Home. He was the loving husband of Marguerite H. (Poirier) Girard. They were married on February 12, 1955.
Born in Woonsocket, he was a son of the late Albani and Cora (Roy) Girard. He was a resident of the city for most of his life and also lived in Harrisville for several years.
Mr. Girard was a veteran of the United States Army serving during the Korean Era.

Fire guts three-family structure Thursday

Woonsocket firefighters battle a structure fire at 179-183 Lincoln St. in Woonsocket shortly after noon Thursday. There were five occupied units in the six-unit structure and all residents, including one cat and one dog, escaped safely. Accused child molester recaptured after flight

PROVIDENCE — A man awaiting trial on Burrillville police charges of child molestation was recaptured here Wednesday after a week on the lam from home confinement, the state police said.
Robert Spaulding, 34, surrendered after State Police searched for him at his mother’s house and the homes of other relatives and friends.
“His trial was coming up,” said Detective Commander Michael J. Winquist of the state police. “I guess he thought he wasn’t going to be there.”
