WOONSOCKET --- One bad minute of hockey at the end of the second period turned out to be Mount St. Charles Academy’s undoing on Friday night in its showdown against the No. 7 ranked team in Massachusetts.
Malden Catholic snapped a 1-1 tie by scoring twice in the final 36 seconds of that middle period and held onto its lead through a wild final period en route to a 5-3 victory before a large gathering at Adelard Arena.
Anne E. Simmons
ANNAPOLIS, MD- On February 14, Anne E. "Mimi" Simmons, 81, of Annapolis, MD and formerly of Cumberland, RI, died at home after a 10 month battle with pancreatic cancer.
Born October 8, 1931 in Woonsocket, RI to the late Peter and Catherine Keriaco, she graduated from Woonsocket High School in 1945 and then graduated from the Katherine Gibbs School in 1949.
Theresa Plasse
WOONSOCKET- Theresa (Robitaille) Plasse, 82, of St. Joseph's St., died February 8, 2013 in Trinity Health & Rehabilitation Center. She was the wife of the late Roland Eaton.
Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late Armand and Marianne (Lanois) Robitaille.
She is survived by her son, Roland Eaton of Glendale; her two daughters Tammy Andrews of Lincoln, and Linda Dawood of Bellingham, MA; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Raymond and Robert Robitaille.
Arthur J. Caron
FRANKLIN- Arthur J. Caron 89, of Franklin, died Wednesday February 13, 2013 at the Milford Regional Medical Center, after being stricken ill at his home. He was the husband of the late Madeline E. (Gasbarro) Caron who died in 2009.
Born January 7, 1924 in Bellingham a son of the late Joseph and Victoria (Boiteau) Caron, he was raised and educated in Bellingham and was a Franklin resident for over 50 years.
