PROVIDENCE â While this may appear to fall under the category of âmuch ado about nothing,â the idea of late night college basketball excursions and the effect they have on the participants seems a subject worthy of exploration.

WOONSOCKET- Richard L. Cote, 60, of Diamond Hill Road passed away Thursday at home surrounded by his loving friends and family. He was the husband of Celine (Lacombe) Cote, and they had been married for 40 years.
Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of the late Treffle and Imelda (Charrette) Cote. He was a life-long resident of Woonsocket.
Mr. Cote was the owner of Rick's Service and Towing Inc. of Woonsocket for over 33 years retiring due to illness.
WOONSOCKET â Acting on a tip, police arrested two city men Thursday in connection with the theft of brass hand rails from the steps of the landmark St. Charles Barromeo Church.
Robert C. Ceraolo, 55, of 340 Robinson St., and Timothy Ring, 36, of 157 Fairfield Ave., are charged with one count each of felony larceny and conspiracy.
CUMBERLAND â The Town Council has given the Water Department the green light to move forward with a plan to drill test wells at five sites where town water officials hope to find new municipal sources of water.
WOONSOCKET â Local school officials could soon be considering plans to help students achieve new state graduation requirements that are threatening to keep some members of the Class of 2014 from earning a high school diploma when next yearâs graduation season rolls around.
School Committee Chairwoman Vimala Phongsavanh said Tuesday she is aware of the changes in graduation requirements affecting next yearâs seniors and wants to hear more about the districtâs plans to assist students who have yet to achieve proficiency in state academic standards.

BURRILLVILLE -- It looked as if Burrillville High would make the most of its Senior Night celebration after entering intermission behind Division II-North opponent North Providence by a mere five (24-19).
The Broncos opened the final stanza in style, with senior Ashley Spear canning a turnaround one-hander in the lane and classmate Emma Lapierre hitting a putback with only 2:21 expired. Actually, the tri-captain had been fouled on the bucket, and went to the charity stripe set to tie the contest for the first time at 24-all.

BELLINGHAM, MA. - John P. Drew, 74, of Bellingham, MA passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at home with his loving family by his side. He was the beloved husband for 39 years of Gail M. (Russell) Drew.
Jeanne J. Berard
MANVILLE - Jeanne J. Berard, 85, of Manville, formerly of Flat St. Cumberland, died Wednesday at Landmark Medical Center. She was the wife of the late Henrio E. Berard.
Born in Manville, she was a daughter of the late Hector and Laure (Poulin) Forand. She was a resident of Manville for most of her life.
Mrs. Berard was employed at HealthTex for several years.
Jeanne was a longtime communicant of St. James Parish. She was a member of the Union of Prayer, the Golden Agers and the Riverside Tenants Association.
