Burrillville hopes to make up for 'lost season' in Div. I championship series vs. Barrington

BURRILLVILLE — If you would have told Steve Daigle a month ago that his Burrillville team would play – and be a slight favorite – in the Division I championship series in mid-March at Brown University, the veteran coach would have thought you were crazy and walked away from you.
The Broncos finished the regular season with just one win in their last 11 games and a 4-11-3 mark, hardly a record for any team worthy enough to get into the postseason, never mind earn a spot in a best-of-three title series.

BLACKSTONE- Nora N. (Colli) Pouliot, 80, of Early Village died March 11, 2013 in Landmark Medical Center with her family by her side. She was the wife of the late Horace Pouliot.
Born in Woonsocket, daughter of the late Guiseppe and Maria Elvira (Ottavi) Colli.
Nora worked for Cumberland Farms, Lil General, and For the Family Grocer for several years prior to retiring.
She was a former member of the Italian Workingmen's Club Women's Auxiliary, and the Senior Center in Blackstone.

WOONSOCKET- Paul H. Mongeon, 69, of Woonsocket passed away Saturday, March 9, 2013 at the Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center surrounded by family and friends.
Born in Fall River, MA, he was the son of the late Norman Mongeon and Constance (Cote) Mongeon.

DELRAY BEACH, FL- Kyle Michael McCabe, 21, went home to be with Jesus on February 28, 2013.
He attended Easter Seals Early Intervention Program from 6 months to 3 years old and Lantana Elementary School from 3 to5 years old. He was a student at Royal Palm School from 5 years old until his passing. He was due to graduate on May 28th, 2013. He also attended the United Cerebral Palsy After school Program from 3 years until his passing, and their respite services were made available and used by his parents.

Zoners let stand decision on St. Francis House that triggered $3 million suit

WOONSOCKET – The Zoning Board of Review Monday let stand an earlier decision on developer Gary Fernandes’ plans for St. Francis House that resulted in a $3 million lawsuit against the city.
Superior Court Judge William Carnes remanded the case to the zoning board last fall to clarify the underlying “findings of fact” supporting the decision, and to address allegations of a conflict of interest involving member Allan Rivers, who opposed Fernandes’ plans

Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of the late Albert and Aurore (Dussault) Lemoine.
