WOONSOCKET — Mount St. Charles Academy coach Tony DiLorenzo has a dilemma on his hands this week, and it’s not trying to figure out a way to upend unbeaten La Salle Academy in their best-of-three title series at Brown University’s Meehan Auditorium.
Rather, it’s trying to figure out how to compete with what may be an 11-player roster, no thanks to a pair of injuries suffered by two of his defensemen in Saturday’s 2-1 win over the Warwick co-op team that completed Mount’s best-of-three semifinal-round sweep.

It’s going to be awfully tough to pick just one.
Two series contain neighboring teams battling each other. Another features the region’s best parochial school team taking on the state’s top public school squad, and the fourth is a battle between two teams that saw two of their three regular-season games end in ties.
The best-of-three action begins on Friday, and the Division I series featuring Burrillville and Cranston West kicks off the schedule with an early 7 p.m. game at Levy Arena.
Albert J. Forcier
MILFORD MA- Mr. Albert J. Forcier, 97, of Milford MA, died unexpectedly Tuesday (March 5, 2013) at the Milford Regional Medical Center after being stricken at his residence. He was the husband of Janette R. (LaChapelle) Forcier.
Mr. Forcier was born in Woonsocket RI, the son of the late Joseph and the late Marie L. (Ferron) Forcier.
He was a graduate of Mount St. Charles Academy, Class of 1935. He also attended Hill College in Woonsocket and also attended Rhode Island School of Design.
WOONSOCKET – The Wisconsin-based Freedom from Religion Foundation (FFRF) hasn’t forgotten about the city’s Place Jolicoeur monument.
The monument – a war memorial that had long since blended into the background of city life – got its 15 minutes of fame last year when the FFRF wrote to Mayor Leo T. Fontaine demanding that the Latin cross atop the structure be removed because it rests on city property and thus improperly gives government sanction to a religious symbol.
Rebecca Markert of the FFRF told The Call Monday it has not dropped its objection to the memorial.
Therese M. Chevrette
BLACKSTONE- Therese M. "Terry" (Rivard) Chevrette, 87, of Blackstone, MA passed away on Saturday, March 2, 2013 at Saint Vincent Hospital in Worcester, MA. She was the beloved wife of the late Hector "Tibi" Chevrette who passed in 1982.
Born on April 13, 1925 in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late Alphonse and Albina (Plante) Rivard.
WOONSOCKET – A pit bull dog came to the defense of his owner after he was seriously injured by a man who attacked him with a golf club Monday, police said.
The dog was in the yard when Matthew Jones allegedly bashed two people, Josef Tallo, 27, and Fatima DaSilva, 25, in the head with the club outside their 216 Grove St. apartment shortly after 7 p.m.
Jones, 38, who had been partying at a house next door, was bitten on the calf, hand and chin by the dog, according to Detective Jamie Paone.
WOONSOCKET – State Rep. Lisa Baldelli-Hunt (D-Dist. 49) has signaled to the Budget Commission that she might not support the panel’s request for a $2.5 million supplemental tax bill, at least as it’s currently proposed.
Baldelli-Hunt said the plan puts too much of the burden on the owners of single-family homes and condos at the expense of all other classes of properties.
