LEXINGTON, MO- Doris A. Childress, 73, Lexington, Mo., passed away March 10, 2013.
Visitation will be from 10 - 11 a.m., Wednesday, March 13, at Speaks Buckner Chapel, 300 Adams, Buckner, MO 64016. Graveside services will follow at 11:30 a.m. at Buckner Hill Cemetery. CUMBERLAND â€” The Town Council last week approved a resolution authorizing Mayor Daniel J. McKee to enter into a contract agreement with Birchwood Design Group, a Providence-based landscape architecture planning and design firm chosen by the town to replace the natural grass football field at Tucker Field with synthetic turf as part of the Tucker Field Athletic Complex renovation project.
WOONSOCKET â€” Members of the Budget Commission will meet privately with city lawmakers at the Statehouse today to discuss the commissionâ€™s request for enabling legislation to issue a supplemental tax bill.
Chairman William Sequino said the commission wants lawmakers to know the importance of acting quickly to approve a $2.5 million supplemental tax bill, but he is open to suggestions on how the money should be raised.
â€śAs a body I would say yes to both questions,â€ť Sequino said via e-mail. â€śWe are open to suggestions and we would like speedy passage.â€ť

Ciolfi kept thinking about a bonding/healing session to be conducted on a yellow school bus.
CUMBERLAND- Celine (Depault) Metivier, 79, of Manville Hill Road., died Saturday, March 9, 2013 at Trinity Health Care Center, Woonsocket. She was the wife of the late Oliva H. Metivier.
She is survived by her son, Marc H. Metiver, and his wife Pauline, of Cumberland; four sisters, Lucy Metivier of St. Joseph, Missouri, Marguerite Calise of Burrillville, Suzanne St. Thomas of Cumberland, and Claire Lofgren of Bellingham, Massachusetts; two brothers, Raymond Depault of Albion, and Eugene Depault of North Smithfield; and several nieces and nephews.

BROOKLYN, CT - Eugene J. LaPlante, 98, of Brooklyn, CT, formerly of Woonsocket, RI, husband of the late Gloria J. (Brigham) LaPlante, died Thursday at Villa Maria Nursing Home in Plainfield, CT, where he had resided for the past two years.
He retired in 1980 from the Tupperware Company.
He is survived by his daughters, Dale Anderson of FL and Judith Sauve of Casa Grande, AZ, seven grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
Lorraine G. Bernard
WOONSOCKET- Lorraine G. (Lamarre) Bernard, 66, of Woonsocket, died Monday, March 11, 2013 in her home. She was the wife of Bernard J. Bernard, III, whom she married May 6, 1967.
Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late Roland and Lillian (Chasse) Lamarre.
Lorraine was a dedicated nurse for over 45 years, retiring from Landmark Medical Center in 2011. She was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church. Lorraine enjoyed golfing in Hilton Head and spending time with her grandchildren.
ALBION- Irene Godin, 97, of Albion, died Sunday morning at Oakland Grove surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Adrien Godin, Sr.
Born in St. Eugene, P.Q., Canada, she was a daughter of the late Onesime Gendron Sr. and Anna (Norman) Gendron. She was raised in Canada and came to the United States as a child and settled in Albion.
Mrs. Godin was employed at American Tourister, Berkshire Hathaway and AT Cross in Lincoln during her working years before retiring in 1980.
Grace F. Ducharme
BURRILLVILLE- Grace F. (Austin) Ducharme, 96, died Friday Mar. 8, 2013 in Overlook Nursing Home, Pascoag. She was the wife of the late Raymond J. Ducharme.
Born in Smithfield, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Lila (Ingerson) Austin and step daughter of the late Grace Austin.
She worked for many years in area Textile Mills and retired after 13 years as a CNA from Zambarano Hospital.
