PawSox reduce magic number to clinch division to three

PAWTUCKET – With all roads leading to the PawSox qualifying for the Governors’ Cup playoffs for a third straight season, it raises the question of what kind of squad manager Gary DiSarcina will have at his disposal when the second season arrives.
To that end, DiSarcina admitted Wednesday that he’s had brief conversations with Red Sox Director of Player Development Ben Crockett about how many players Pawtucket stands to lose on Sept. 1, which is the first day Major League teams are allowed to expand their rosters.

Shuttle service available for tonight's Block Party

WOONSOCKET -- Valley Transportation is dispatching two shuttle buses, including one that’s wheelchair-accessible, to accommodate party-goers at the 125th anniversary Main Street Block Party.
The buses will pick up passengers and drop them off at the following locations on the fringes of the festival, repeating the loop at 15-minute intervals through midnight:
*Woonsocket Middle School, two stops, one at the entrance to the Hamlet Avenue building, another at the Florence Drive terminus of the Kendrick Avenue Foot Bridge.
*St. Ann Arts & Cultural Center parking lot.

City celebration includes look at Woonsocket's past

WOONSOCKET – Partygoers attending tonight’s 125th anniversary Main Street block party can get a glimpse of what life was like in Woonsocket in the 1800’s by taking a stroll over to Timeless Antiques & Collectibles on Main Street where antique dealer Tammy Irwin and the Woonsocket Historical Society have set up a sidewalk display window filled with Woonsocket memorabilia and other artifacts from the city’s past.

SPRING HILL, FL- Linda Jeanne Marchand, 65, of Spring Hill, FL, formerly of Albion, passed away on Thursday, February 28, 2013 from cancer. She is the wife of Roger J. Marchand.
Born in Woonsocket, December 16, 1947, she was a daughter of the late Rudolph and Mary (Clements) Fafard.
She also resided in Raynam, MA, and Scotch Plains, NJ.
