Navigant Post 85 forced to play waiting game at Northeast Regionals

MIDDLETOWN, Conn. — It turned out to be a long Friday morning and afternoon for Navigant Post 85.

Co-managers Buster Perrault and Jim Gauthier and their players desperately wanted to take on Rochester, N.H., here at the American Legion Northeast Regional Senior Division Tournament, for one very simple reason: They longed to post their first victory after sustaining a 9-2 loss to Barnstable, Mass. in their opener on Thursday.
Post 85, however, had to wait – and wait some more.

WOONSOCKET- Dorothy L. (Hayes) Moore, 72, of Woonsocket, passed away on July 2, 2013 at Landmark Medical Center. She was the wife of Brian L. Moore.
Born in Richmond, VA on May 7, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Mary (Hicks) Hayes. She leaves her daughter, Tracy S. McCallum of Boston, MA, her granddaughter, Elissa D.M. Turcotte of Bellingham, MA, her great-grandsons, Matthew L. Hayes and Jaidyn I. Turcotte and many family members. Also, "Roxie Moore" her loving Blue Pit Terrier.

WOONSOCKET – As a broadcasting jack-of-all-trades, radio station owner Dave Richards of WOON-AM 1240 has won awards for his innovative coverage of the Autumnfest Parade, but this year he really has his work cut out for him.
He has to figure out a way to cover the parade as a radio reporter and serve as its chief dignitary at the same time.
