Roger R. Fournier
BURRILLVILLE- Roger R. Fournier, 52, of Sayles Avenue, died Friday in the Hospice Intake Center.
Born in Woonsocket, a son of the late Roch and Cora (Denomme) Fournier.He was President of R& C Painting.
He leaves his beloved girlfriend, Karen Tysen of Uxbridge, MA, his son, Chad J. Fournier of North Smithfield, siblings, Elaine Fournier, Susan Lavigne, Ann LHeureux, Claire Fournier, and Karen Fournier.
Funeral service Wednesday at 7:30pm in the Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Greenville Common, Greenville. Visitation Wednesday 5-8pm.
Rosemary G. Barber
CUMBERLAND- Rosemary G. Barber, 70, formerly of Arnold Drive, passed away Saturday at the Landmark Medical Center, Woonsocket. She was the wife of Robert T. Barber, and they had been married for 49 years.
Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Rose (Wallace) Gall.
Mrs. Barber was employed as Registered Nurse and Supervisor for the Roger William Medical Center and Fogarty Hospital for many years.
Sylvia Bacchiocchi
CUMBERLAND- Sylvia (Bouchard) Bacchiocchi, 101, of Mendon Road died Thursday, April 18, 2013 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Dario A. Bacchiocchi (B.A. Dario).
Born in Woonsocket, a daughter of the late Isidore Joseph and Emma (Brodeur) Bouchard, she had lived in Lincoln and Cumberland for many years.

L'Esperance
WOONSOCKET- Jeannette D. L'Esperance, 89, formerly of Park Place, Woonsocket died Friday evening at The Friendly Home. She was the wife of the late Roma A. L'Esperance.
Born in Woonsocket, she was a daughter of the late Francis and Lillian (Allard) Landry. She was a lifelong resident of the city.
Mrs. L'Esperance was employed at the Manville Jenckes and French Worsted mills and later worked at Kilnic Co. Inc. for many years before retiring in 1977.
She was a member of the Royal Travelers, and the Holy Family and St. Louis Sr. citizens groups.

PROVIDENCE – In what backers are calling “a historic step forward,” Pawtucket Sen. Donna Nesselbush’s bill to legalize same-sex marriage is scheduled for a vote on Tuesday in the Senate Judiciary Committee.
If the bill passes out of committee, it could come to a vote in the full Senate as soon as Thursday. Senate President Teresa Paiva Weed said recently that she expects the measure to get a full Senate vote by the end of this month.
The longer days and milder temperatures of April usually herald the arrival of daffodils, songbirds and short-sleeve shirts. But if you’ve been listening lately you’ve heard another sign that spring has finally sprung — the rumble of motorcycles on area roadways and highways.
Motorcycle season has arrived in Rhode Island and riders are hitting the roads after a long, cold winter. It’s a good time, motorcycle safety advocates say, to remind bikers of the importance of getting trained and wearing safety gear, and to urge car drivers to be more aware of motorcyclists.
WOONSOCKET – After a long winter, Ralph Bileau is planning to greet the spring planting season with a big assortment of garden plants and yard flowers at Bileau’s Flower & Stove Shop at 665 Diamond Hill Road.
And, he’s not alone.
Fontana’s Flowers and Greenhouses, at 1098 Diamond Hill Road, is already raising flats of vegetables and flowers that will be sold when planting season is warmly in place.
It is a tradition that has been going on for years for both businesses.

WOONSOCKET – Mary Green knew she was coming into a good situation this winter when she accepted the head coaching job at Mount St. Charles.
She didn’t realize it was going to be as magnificent as it has been.
The former Bryant University two-sport standout has seen her Mounties roll out to a 4-1 mark – the best start in the program’s six-year history – and take charge of Division III-North, quickly establishing themselves as the “team to beat” in the five-team circuit.
PAWTUCKET – The telling numbers from the high-school baseball summit that transformed McCoy Stadium into a special place Saturday weren’t five and three – five being the number of runs Tolman High produced compared to the three scored by the guests of honor – Connecticut’s Newtown High.
WOONSOCKET — The state-appointed Budget Commission in charge of city fiscal affairs has accepted a proposed city budget of approximately $127.3 million that includes all projected cost savings proposed in its effort to create a balanced five-year spending plan for the city.
The Commission moved to forward the budget proposal to a public hearing it expects to hold on May 8.
Budget Commission Chairman William Sequino Jr. said the panel would not discuss the proposal as it came up for a vote at the meeting Friday afternoon and would instead leave that discussion for the public hearing.
