Reynold B. Cochrane

UXBRIDGE- Reynold B. "Renny", "Corky" Cochrane, Sr., 90 of Uxbridge passed away Mon. October 7, 2013 at his residence. He was the husband of Ardell M. (Wilson) Cochrane.
Corky was employed at the former Whitin Machine Works in Whitinsville, Schnorr Construction Co. in Uxbridge, Helen's Transportation in Uxbridge, and in the 1960's he was the owner of "Corky's" Texaco in Uxbridge. He retired in 1985 after more than 17 years as a heavy equipment operator for the former Rosenfeld Concrete Co. of Hopedale.

Carle N. Miller

Carle N. Miller, 85, of Ferrier St. died Saturday at home. He was the husband of Mary (Delaney) Miller.
Born in Slatersville, he was a son of the late William E. and Alma H. (Nelson ) Miller. Carle was a WWII Army Veteran.
He worked for Rockwell International as a pattern maker for thirty two years before retiring in 1981.
Besides his wife he leaves a brother, William D. Miller of Slatersville, a sister Christine Evans of N. Hampton, MA,and several nieces and nephews, including Robert McManus of Pascoag. He was also the brother of the late Robert E. Miller.

WOONSOCKET- Wilfred J. Gailloux, 66, a lifelong resident of Woonsocket, passed away on Tuesday at Landmark Medical Ctr.
Born, July 27, 1947 in Woonsocket he was the son of the late Gilbert & Gertrude (Courtemanche) Gailloux.
Wilfred was a clerk for the city of Woonsocket Municipal Court for many years before retiring. He was a generous contributor to his favorite charities, he enjoyed cooking, but most of all he enjoyed the company of being with his friends.

Joseph C. Hickman

BLACKSTONE- Joseph C. Hickman 56, of Reilly Ave. died Thursday in Providence. He was the husband of Sandra (Campbell) Hickman.
Born in Edinburgh, Scotland, he was a son of Marlenne (McCabe) Allen of Sudsbury, MA and the late Joseph P. Hickman. He was also the step-son of the late William Allen.
Joe was a printer for most of his life working at several area printers, the most recent, Packaging Graphics in Pawtucket where he has been working for over four years. Joseph was a US Air Force Veteran of the Vietnam War. He was an avid golfer and a great sports fan.

William H. Taylor

WOONSOCKET- William H. "Billy" Taylor, 81, of Paradis Ave., died Monday September 23, 2013 at Landmark Medical Center.
Born in Woonsocket, he was a son of the late William Henry and Katherine Veronica (McBride) Taylor. He was a resident of Woonsocket for most of his life.
Mr. Taylor was a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Korean War.
Billy was employed at General Motors in Framingham for over 30 years.

BELLINGHAM- Dorothy J. (Tuttle) Carlisle, 86, of Falmouth, MA, formerly of Bellingham, passed away on Friday, October 11, 2013 with family by her side, at the JML Care Center of Falmouth, MA. She was the wife of the late Ernest M. Carlisle.
Born in New Bedford, MA on January 15, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Fran and Marguerita (Fleshman) Tuttle.

WOONSOCKET- Aline H. Tellstone, 91, of 76 Mendon St. died Friday at home. She was the wife of the late Clayton V. Tellstone Sr. Born in Fall River, MA, she was a daughter of the late Alfred and Leontine (Roussell) Bouchard. Mrs. Tellstone was a bookkeeper for the Tellstone Bus Co. for several years. She also worked at the Ilona Mills in Millville, the former Nyanza Department Store and Sadwin's Curtains. She was a member of the Blackstone Senior Citizens, the Millville Senior Citizens, The AARP and the Royal Travelers.

Seven Hills to open outpatient care facility

WOONSOCKET – State health officials have approved Seven Hills Rhode Island’s application to run an outpatient ambulatory care facility as part of a multi-million dollar pilot project aimed at containing health care costs for individuals coping with complex developmental and physical disabilities.

Seven Hills will operate one of two Living RIte centers under a $15 million grant obtained by the University of Rhode Island, according to Christine Gadbois, administrator of Seven Hills Rhode Island.
AccessPoint RI, another health care provider in Cranston, will run the other.

Autumnfest tradition marches on

WOONSOCKET — As the fog burned off to make way for sunny skies and the temperature rose out of the 40s on Monday morning, anticipation was running high at the staging areas on Diamond Hill Road for those marching, riding and “floating” in the 35th annual Autumnfest parade.

High school bands, local businesses and politicians from across the state, congregated to get their marching orders before the 9:30 a.m. procession stepped off.

PROVIDENCE — Right from the onset, Bob Driscoll expressed a strong desire to inject new life into the athletic facilities utilized by Providence College coaches and student-athletes.

“I remember speaking with a reporter in one of my first interviews for an article about what was possible,” said Driscoll, now less than a month away from the 12th anniversary of his hiring date as the school’s athletic director. “I’m a pretty big dreamer, but even for my dreams, it’s exceeded that.”
