Donna M. Hudon
UXBRIDGE- Donna M. (Jaszczur) Hudon, 65, of 511 Blackstone St. died Mon. May 6 at home after a long illness.
She is survived by her husband of 42 years Ronald R. Hudon; a son Michael D. and his wife Christina Hudon of Uxbridge; a daughter Tammi Hudon and her fianc Kevin of Holly Springs, N. Carolina; her mother Klementyna Jaszczur of Uxbridge with whom Donna lived; 2 granddaughters Abigayle and Maya; and several nephews and nieces.
Loretta M. Leduc
BURRILLVILLE- Loretta M. Leduc 97, resident of Pascoag, died May 6, 2013 at Pine Grove Health Center in Pascoag.
She was the wife of sixty eight years to the late J. Elphege Leduc.
She was born in Dayville CT, a daughter of the late Ernest & Maria (DePelteau) Tetreault.
She worked for Polytop in No. Smithfield retiring in 1978, previously she worked in area textiles for many years. She was a member of the Burrillville Senior Citizens, Ashton Court Club. She lived most of her life in Burrillville.

CUMBERLAND — Cumberland’s inability to get the big hit on Tuesday afternoon cost the Clippers an opportunity to pick up a big win.
The Clippers stranded 10 runners on base – five of them in scoring position – and saw La Salle use a three-run uprising in the top of the third inning and some strong pitching from Caleb Gardner to produce a 4-1 victory at Tucker Field.
The Rams, who are 10-1 in Division I-North play (and in second place behind unbeaten Bishop Hendricken) and have now won eight in a row, didn’t need a big hit to take their 3-0 lead off Cumberland starter Rob Reedy.
CUMBERLAND — A year ago at these Northern Division Championships, then-Central Falls High junior Tiffany Jenkins finished third overall in the high jump – courtesy of a leap of five feet, one inch – but truly wanted to improve that placement this time around.
Now a senior captain, she accomplished the same 5-1 on Tuesday afternoon, but found herself in a different situation. With the height, she earned the title, so is looking forward to bigger and better things with the premier meets just around the corner.
WOONSOCKET – A police officer was bitten by a pit bull early Tuesday while investigating a report of a domestic assault at 252 Burnside Ave., police said.
Patrolman Patrick Greeno, 24, was struggling with a woman in the kitchen when one of her daughters opened a bedroom door, allowing two pit bulls to get out.
As he and another patrolman were wrestling 44-year-old Katie Acevedo into a pair of handcuffs, Greeno reported, one of the dogs bit him on the right forearm, breaking the skin and opening a laceration about a half-inch long.
PROVIDENCE – The Senate Finance Committee unanimously approved Sen. Marc Cote’s bill to approve a $2.5 million supplemental property tax levy in Woonsocket on Tuesday.
The measure will now go to the full Senate, but Cote said if it is approved there, it will be held until other parts of the plan to reduce Woonsocket’s deficit plan are concluded. These include negotiations that Mayor Leo Fontaine and Budget Commission Chairman William Sequino are currently conducting with city employees and retirees to cut payroll and pension costs.
Russell H. Rondeau
WOONSOCKET - Russell H. Rondeau, 71, of Woonsocket, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 24, 2013 with his loving family by his side. He was the beloved husband for 49 years of Pauline Y. (Grenier) Rondeau.
Born in Woonsocket on January 18, 1942, he was the son of the late Walter and Irene (Giguere) Rondeau.
Lisa A. Brien
WOONSOCKET - Lisa A. Brien, 55, passed away on Sunday at her home. Born Aug. 9. 1957 she was the daughter of the late Marcel & Dorothy (Mosley) Brien. Lisa was employed as a assembler for the Polytop Co. in No. Smithfield for many years before retiring, she was also a school bus monitor for the City of Woonsocket. She enjoyed using her computer and she loved cats & birds.

CUMBERLAND — Mount St. Charles junior Anthony Pasquarelli admitted he felt “pretty good” while prepping for the high jump at these Northern Division Championships, held at Tucker Field on Monday afternoon.
But even he didn’t anticipate walking away from the meet with his first-ever divisional crown, thanks to a leap of six feet, two inches.
He had outstanding reason: After all, he had to battle Central Falls High junior phenom Erik Mateo, who back in February became that event’s champion at the state indoor meet at the Providence Career & Technical Academy’s field house.
LINCOLN – It could be upwards of a month before residents are able to move back into a Front Street triple-decker that was heavily damaged by fire Sunday night, fire officials said yesterday.
Lonsdale Fire Chief Timothy Griffin said the 263 Front St. building sustained $75,000 to $100,000 in damages and that extensive repairs will be required before the seven tenants left homeless by the blaze are allowed back in.
All of the tenants are reportedly staying with family members, he said.
