Rita J. LeMay

NORTH SMITHFIELD - Rita J. (Kelleter) LeMay, 75, of North Smithfield, died Tuesday, August 20, 2013 in Hebert Nursing Home, Smithfield. She was the wife of Ronald A. LeMay, whom she married July 12, 1958. Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late Julien and Christiana (Couchane) Kelleter.
Rita was a house keeper at the Friendly Nursing Home for 10 years, retiring in 1997. She was a communicant of Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church. Rita enjoyed gardening, singing and dancing.

Man dies in three-alarm tenement fire

WOONSOCKET – A man died in a three-alarm fire that heavily damaged a four-family tenement near Landmark Medical Center early Wednesday morning.
Neighbors identified the victim as Jim Ferrio of 38-40 Dulude Ave. He was in his late 40s, they said.
Roland Desjarlais said Ferrio lived on the second floor with him and other members of the Desjarlais family. “We took him in,” said Desjarlais, adding that Ferrio worked part-time with him in construction and a family trash-hauling business.

PAWTUCKET — As PawSox manager Gary DiSarcina and pitching coach Rich Sauveur deftly explained, there are certain and significant areas that require Anthony Ranaudo’s attention.
Mind you this particular topic has nothing to do with Ranaudo’s ability to throw a baseball. In the promising righthander’s case, what DiSarcina and Sauveur are implying is that Ranaudo comprehends the importance of his “other” duties, such as fielding the position and holding runners.

New RIIL realignment guidelines to take effect in 2014-15

PROVIDENCE — Perhaps there’s no way getting around it. Coming up with a realignment proposal that soothes the Rhode Island Interscholastic League’s masses is not as simple or straightforward as snapping one’s fingers.
That said, a few ruffled feathers has not impeded the realignment committee branch of the Rhode Island Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (RIIAAA) from coming up with a solution that on the surface could help foster the kind of harmony that has been elusive whenever this particular topic is mentioned.

BELLINGHAM, MA- Sandra L. (Shelley) Speroni, 69, of Bellingham, died Mon. Aug. 19, 2013. She was the wife of Paul L. Speroni.
In addition to her husband Paul of 50 years, she is survived by one son; Rev. Bryan K. Speroni and his wife Pamela of Pascoag, RI; one daughter; Shelley A. and her husband Rev. Richard B. Mosher of Bellingham, 9 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services Saturday August 24, 2013 at 10 AM in the Bellingham Bible Baptist Church, 365 Hartford Ave. Rt. 126, Bellingham, MA.

WOONSOCKET- Aldor R. Chevrette, 87, formerly of Logee St., Woonsocket, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 17, 2013 at the Woonsocket Health Center with family by his side. He was the beloved husband for 62 years of the late Patricia M. (Schram) Chevrette.
Born in Woonsocket o n August 3, 1926,he was the son of the late Joseph and Flora (Boucher) Chevrette.

WOONSOCKET Rita H. (Lafond) Roy, 93, of Trinity, FL formerly of Woonsocket, died Thursday August 15, 2013 at the Trinity Regional Rehabilitation Center. She was the wife of the late Adrien Roy with whom she had been married for seventy years.
Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late Moses and Helen (Belanger) Lafond.
Rita was an assembler for the former US Rubber Company for twenty nine years. She also worked at AT Cross for eleven years, before retiring in 1983. She was a member of the All Saints Christian Group at Holy Family Church.

WOONSOCKET- Arnold A. Smith, 77, of Fall St. died Friday August 16, 2013, at home with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of the late Joyce (Ducharme) Smith.
Born in Woonsocket, son of the late Harold and Mildred (Mowry) Smith.
Mr. Smith worked in maintenance for Amica Ins. for 15 years and Textron for 10 years, prior to retiring.
He was a veteran of the United States Air Force.
He was an avid sports enthusiast, and enjoyed watching his favorite teams on television.
