Ronald A. Sharples
NORTH SMITHFIELD- Ronald A. Sharples, 70, resident of North Smithfield passed away June 3, 2013.
He was the loving husband, to the late Carol A. (Levy) Sharples.
He was born in Central Falls RI, a son of the late William & Eva (Flaxington) Blais.
Ronald owned and operated Sharples Plumbing & Heating in North Smithfield for 40 years, retiring in Jan. 2011. He was a US Army veteran, an active member in the Manville Rod & Gun Club and Wallum Lake Rod and Gun Club.
Matteo Giuliano
WOONSOCKET- Matteo (Matt) Giuliano, 88, of Woonsocket, RI, passed away June 2, 2013 in the Woonsocket Health and Rehabiliation Center, after a courageous battle with Parkinsons disease, with his family by his side.
He is survived by his loving wife of over 64 years, Margaret (Klowan) Giuliano, a daughter Mary, a son and daughter-in-law, Leonard and Susan Giuliano of North Smithfield, 2 grandchildren, Michael and Alexa Giuliano, a brother Frank Giuliano, his sister-in-law, Alice Lanctot and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Rainouts during high school spring sports are always problematic. Sure, there’s comfort in knowing that you can reschedule, but what happens if the same issue arises on the rescheduled day? Can’t keep pushing the games or matches further and further down the road forever, you know.

PAWTUCKET – One day after Jose Iglesias went deep for his first big-league home run of the 2013 season, PawSox manager Gary DiSarcina was asked to weigh in on the suddenly red-hot Red Sox infielder.
The blast at Yankee Stadium continues a stretch that has seen Iglesias shift from short-term fill-in to possibly serving as a full-time backup. The official answer won’t come until Boston activates third baseman Will Middlebrooks from the disabled list, yet if Iglesias continues to perform at a high level, it’s hard to imagine that the 23-year-old will be back with Pawtucket.
WOONSOCKET — Independent consultants hired by the Budget Commission delivered what amounted to an unqualified endorsement Monday of Mayor Leo T. Fontaine’s controversial plan to privatize a proposed water treatment plant, calling it the best possible deal for ratepayers.
PAWTUCKET — For Tony Gallo, trying to help his elderly mother receive veteran's benefits she was entitled to was a complicated, frustrating and nearly 17-month process. He turned to Congressman David Cicilline for help, and now the legislator has submitted a package of bills aimed at reducing the backlog for Gallo and countless others.
PAWTUCKET — The Samaritans of Rhode Island is once again working to eliminate the stigma of seeking help, thanks to a new round of suicide prevention awareness training seminars for educators and healthcare professionals dealing with young people.

McDonald
WOONSOCKET- Ann Marie McDonald, 54, of Woonsocket and formerly of Cumberland, passed away Monday, June 3, 2013.
Born in Providence, she was the daughter of John and Loretta (O'Connell) McDonald of Cumberland.
She had lived in Cumberland most of her life before moving to Woonsocket ten years ago. Ann Marie graduated from Mercymount Country Day School 74' and Davies Vocational 78'. She was a member of the St. Germain Tenants Association, Woonsocket.
James P. Provensal
WAKEFIELD- James P. Provensal, 44, of Wakefield, RI , formerly of North Smithfield, RI, passed away unexpectedly Friday, May 31.
Jim was the son of Ray and Barbara Provensal of Woonsocket, RI, Grandson to Mabel Provensal and the late Paul Provensal and the late Alice and James Powell, brother to David Provensal and Uncle to Nicole and Rebecca Provensal. He was the husband to Emilia Tavares and devoted father to Zacharie and Sarah Provensal.
Esther M. Dupre
BELLINGHAM- Esther M. (Thibeault) Dupre, 86, of Bellingham, MA passed away peacefully on Friday, May 31, 2013 with family by her side, at the Ballou Home, Woonsocket, RI where she has resided for the past three years. She was the beloved wife of the late Raymond L. Dupre.
Born in Woonsocket, RI on February 14, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Henry O. and Mary D. (Dilloyen) Thibeault.
