Stella E. Zmuda
ALBUQUERQUE, NM- Age 105, Stella (Kukla) Zmuda passed away on December 3, 2012 of natural aging causes at the Princeton Place Nursing Home in Albuquerque, NM.
Originally from Blackstone, she was married to Joseph (Pat) Zmuda who passed away in 1989 when they lived in Gorham, ME.
Pat and Stella owned and operated the Blackstone Diner from the early 40's until the mid 70's.
Gary W. Wheaton
HARMONY- Gary W. Wheaton, 62, of Harmony, RI, passed away on Monday at Landmark Medical Ctr.
Born Oct. 20, 1950 in Providence, he was the son of the late Guy & Margaret (Nichols) Wheaton.
Gary served in the U.S. NAVY during the Vietnam Era, He was employed in various marine industry positions including the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute. He was also a Chief Boiler Inspector for the State of R.I. and most recently employed as an Inspector for Commercial Union Insurance Co.

There are some sports writers and columnists who believe that one of the jobâs requisites is to put themselves in the shoes of a professional athlete. Itâs as if the power of the pen and computer grants these gatekeepers of the locker room the ability to read millionaireâs minds or to step inside their bodies.
And thatâs when the real trouble ensues.
LINCOLN â A lunch of Del's Lemonade, chowder and clamcakes, hot wieners and Autocrat coffee milk already had guests smiling, and when Viola Davis took to the stage, it was a celebration of yet another classic product of Rhode Island.
The award-winning actress was in her home state on Wednesday to attend the 28th annual Rhode Island Tourism Unity Luncheon at the Twin River Event Center. Davis spoke at the event, and received the Rhode Island âMaking a Differenceâ Award for her contribution to art and culture tourism in the state.
Laurel Provost
WEST HARWICH- Laurel (Susel) Provost, age 68, passed away at Brigham and Women's Hospital on May 6, 2013 following a courageous battle with heart disease.
Laurel was born in Woonsocket, RI as the second child of Anne (Skrzat) and Charles Susel. She is predeceased by her brother David Susel of Woonsocket, RI.
Laurel graduated from St. Claire High School in 1963 and married Michael Provost in 1965. The couple lived in Endicott, NY for a brief period then resided in North Smithfield, RI until 2004.
Donna M. Hudon
UXBRIDGE- Donna M. (Jaszczur) Hudon, 65, of 511 Blackstone St. died Mon. May 6 at home after a long illness.
She is survived by her husband of 42 years Ronald R. Hudon; a son Michael D. and his wife Christina Hudon of Uxbridge; a daughter Tammi Hudon and her fianc Kevin of Holly Springs, N. Carolina; her mother Klementyna Jaszczur of Uxbridge with whom Donna lived; 2 granddaughters Abigayle and Maya; and several nephews and nieces.
Loretta M. Leduc
BURRILLVILLE- Loretta M. Leduc 97, resident of Pascoag, died May 6, 2013 at Pine Grove Health Center in Pascoag.
She was the wife of sixty eight years to the late J. Elphege Leduc.
She was born in Dayville CT, a daughter of the late Ernest & Maria (DePelteau) Tetreault.
She worked for Polytop in No. Smithfield retiring in 1978, previously she worked in area textiles for many years. She was a member of the Burrillville Senior Citizens, Ashton Court Club. She lived most of her life in Burrillville.

CUMBERLAND â Cumberlandâs inability to get the big hit on Tuesday afternoon cost the Clippers an opportunity to pick up a big win.
The Clippers stranded 10 runners on base â five of them in scoring position â and saw La Salle use a three-run uprising in the top of the third inning and some strong pitching from Caleb Gardner to produce a 4-1 victory at Tucker Field.
The Rams, who are 10-1 in Division I-North play (and in second place behind unbeaten Bishop Hendricken) and have now won eight in a row, didnât need a big hit to take their 3-0 lead off Cumberland starter Rob Reedy.
CUMBERLAND â A year ago at these Northern Division Championships, then-Central Falls High junior Tiffany Jenkins finished third overall in the high jump â courtesy of a leap of five feet, one inch â but truly wanted to improve that placement this time around.
Now a senior captain, she accomplished the same 5-1 on Tuesday afternoon, but found herself in a different situation. With the height, she earned the title, so is looking forward to bigger and better things with the premier meets just around the corner.
WOONSOCKET â A police officer was bitten by a pit bull early Tuesday while investigating a report of a domestic assault at 252 Burnside Ave., police said.
Patrolman Patrick Greeno, 24, was struggling with a woman in the kitchen when one of her daughters opened a bedroom door, allowing two pit bulls to get out.
As he and another patrolman were wrestling 44-year-old Katie Acevedo into a pair of handcuffs, Greeno reported, one of the dogs bit him on the right forearm, breaking the skin and opening a laceration about a half-inch long.
