Anna L. Atchison
SHREWSBURY- Anna L. Atchison, 66, formerly a long time resident of Millville passed away Fri. June 28 at UMass Hospital in Worcester.
She is survived by her brother John H. and his wife Deanna B. Atchison Jr. of Andover; a niece Amy J. and her husband Goksal Cagli of Arlington, VA; a nephew William J. Atchison of Haverhill; a great niece Isabelle Cagli and a great nephew Ibrahim Cagli of Arlington, VA; as well as many friends especially her dear friend Gladys Tyks of Blackstone.
Walter F. Bosse
CUMBERLAND- Walter F. "Tex" Bosse, 91, of Putnam Pike, Smithfield, formerly of Norton Drive, Cumberland passed away Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at the Village at Waterman Lake, Smithfield. He was the beloved husband of over 67 years to the late Evelyn (Kling) Bosse.
Born in Batesville, IN, he was the son of the late Clemens Bosse and Ida Gesell Dieckmann.
He was a proud graduate of the University of Texas.
He was an electrical engineer for the Sylvania Co. and later Amperex Co. for many years. He also worked as a stockbroker and for the City of Providence.
Claudette A. Marcet
GORHAM, ME- Claudette A. (Comtois) Marcet, 81, died peacefully on May 27, 2013 at Maine Medical Center in Portland, following a long illness.
She was recently an assisted-living resident at Gorham House, in Gorham, Maine.
Burial has taken place at the St. Charles Cemetery in Blackstone, MA. A celebration of her life is scheduled for Saturday, September 21 at 2:00pm at the First Parish Congregational Church, UCC, of Gorham, Maine. Family and friends are welcome.
There will be plenty of parades, concerts and fireworks this week in honor of Independence Day and it all begins Wednesday with Woonsocketâs annual 4th of July celebration at World War II Memorial Park on Social Street.
The evening begins at 6 p.m. with entertainment by Master of Ceremonies Jeff Gamache who will be crooning patriotic favorites and more.
At 7:30 p.m. the 10-piece Kickinâ Brass Band takes over to wow the crowd and a fireworks display will light up the skies around 9:15 p.m.
Event attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and or blankets.
WOONSOCKET â The cityâs lawyers donât want the state courts to hear the first legal challenge to the Budget Commissionâs unilateral cuts in retiree health benefits.
Lawyer Daniel Kinder said the city asked the state Superior Court to move the case to the federal system on Tuesday. The city had the leverage to do so because retired policeman Glen Hebertâs suit rests on a federal law â the contract clause of the U.S. Constitution.
Defendants in such cases have the right to ask for the switch to the federal system, which is considered a routine process, according to Kinder.
Albert J. Houle
BURRILLVILLE- Albert J. Houle, 89, of Mapleville, RI, passed away June 30, 2013, at the Overlook Nursing Home, Pascoag, surrounded by his loving family.
He was the loving husband of 58 years to Irene (Meinville) Houle.
He was born in Woonsocket RI, son of the late Herve & Opalma (Fontaine) Houle.
NORTH SMITHFIELD- Maria Suffoletto, 97, formerly of LaFlamme Ave. died Sunday June 30, 2013 in the St. Antoine Residence with her family by her side.
Born in Woonsocket, Daughter of the late Giuseppe and Magherita (Ciccolella) Suffoletto.
Maria worked as a Group Leader at Tupperware for 27 years, retiring in 1983.
She was a former member of the St. Anthony's Lady Guild.
She is survived by her sister Ida Laplume, of Woonsocket and several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.
Maria was predeceased by 12 siblings
Sheila A. Conrardy
HARRISVILLE- Sheila A. (Ballou) Conrardy, 69, of Harrisville, died June 29, 2013 in Overlook Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Burrillville. She was the wife of the late Robert P. Conrardy.
Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Ann (King) Ballou, Sr.
Sheila was a homemaker, and also worked as a nurse for several local nursing facilities.
Patrick V. O'Hara, Jr.
NORTH SMITHFIELD- Patrick V. O'Hara, Jr., 65, of Summit Ave., died June 30, 2013 at home surrounded by love. He was the husband for forty-five years of Claire (Vallieres) O'Hara.
Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of the late Patrick V. and Lera M. (Lawrence) O'Hara. Raised in Tennessee, Patrick had been a resident of North Smithfield since 1974.
