NORTH SMITHFIELD – The arrival of two additional businesses at the town’s premier commercial development, Dowling Village, caught the praise of Town Administrator Paulette Hamilton in her recent state of the town address, and could hint at things to come for Eddie Dowling Highway.
Dowling Village developer Brian Bucci, of Bucci Development of Warwick, declined to comment on specifics of future projects at Dowling Village, but did forecast more work ahead this year.

NORTH SMITHFIELD – Long before Mike Cicerone began his senior year at North Smithfield High, he had thought out his plan for it.
Already the starting quarterback, he would be the Class of 2014 President, would play a key role on the varsity basketball team that last winter clinched the R.I. Division II title with a perfect 24-0 record and – come springtime, just weeks before Graduation Day – would be a starter for head coach Jon Leddy’s baseball squad.
WOONSOCKET — Snow wasn’t the only thing falling to the ground in the city on Monday — at 121 Providence St., it was the remains of a fire-damaged city tenement that were coming down under the bite of a large John Deere excavator.
Peter St. Lawrence of R&P Construction and Demolition out of Johnston, and a company employee, Anthony Carnevale, only needed about three hours to knock down most of the four-unit, wood-frame apartment Monday morning and spent the rest of the snowy afternoon pulling out salvageable metals and other materials from the resulting debris pile.
