SO. KINGSTOWN - CONTE, Claire A. (Beauregard) 69, of South Kingstown, R.I. died peacefully on December 18, 2014 at her home in North Port, Fla. She was the beloved wife of Robert C. Conte. They had recently celebrated their 48th wedding anniversary.

Murray pleads not guilty to murder charges

BLACKSTONE – Erika Murray, the 31-year-old Blackstone mother indicted for murder after police discovered the remains of three babies in her squalid home on St. Paul Street, was ordered held without bail after she pleaded not guilty to nine criminal charges, including two counts of murder, at her arraignment in Worcester Superior Court Monday.

Murray was indicted on the charges by a grand jury on Dec. 16.

After all, it finished fourth in the tournament a year ago, all the while having an opportunity to re-engage his athletes on the ice after their festive Christmas activities.

NORTH SMITHFIELD - Carl A. Archambault, 80, of Edward Ave., passed away Sunday in the Oakland Grove Nursing Center, Woonsocket. He was the beloved husband of Louise (Bruscini) Archambault.
Born in Cumberland he was the son of the late Alfred J. and Violet (Anderson) Archambault. He reside in North Smithfield for the past 33 years previously residing in Cumberland most of his life.

WOONSOCKET - Mabel M. (Laferriere) Provensal, 94, of Woonsocket, died Sunday, December 28, 2014 in Trinity Health & Rehab Center. She was the wife of the late Paul E. Provensal. Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Eva (Dufresne) Laferriere.
Mrs. Provensal worked for the Woonsocket Public Schools Lunch Program, and was previously a nurse's aide at Fogarty Hospital. She was a communicant of All Saints Church. Mabel was a member of several senior citizens groups, and loved traveling and bowling.

BRIMFIELD, MA - Helene Therese (St. Louis) Deraleau, 52, died December 24 at her home surrounded by family and friends. Born in Woonsocket, RI, August 7, 1962, she was the daughter of Roland and Doris (Doura) St. Louis. She was raised and started her own family in Blackstone, MA and then moved to Shoreham, NY, settling in Brimfield, MA 15 years ago.

WOONSOCKET - Annette C. (Mailloux) Masse 96, died December 18, 2014 at Oakland Grove Health Care Center. She was the wife of the late Walter Masse. Born in Woonsocket, Annette was a daughter of the late Eugene and Exilia (Dubois) Mailloux. Mrs. Masse was a self-employed piano teacher for most of her life. She was a member of the Beethoven Club.
She is survived by a sister, Gertrude J. Jarvis of Woonsocket; a nephew, Paul Jarvis of Dallas TX; and a niece, Patricia Jarvis of Woonsocket. She was also the sister of the late Eugene Mailloux Jr. and Muriel Frappier.

BURRILLVILLE - Kenneth W. Putnam Sr., 98, died Saturday Dec. 27, 2014 in Overlook Nursing Home, Pascoag. He was the Husband of the late Thelma I. (Carter) Putnam, whom he married July 11, 1940. Born in Pascoag, he was the son of the late Russell and Mary Jane (Deacon) Putnam.
Kenneth and his wife Thelma owned and operated the former Pascoag Super Market for 23 years and a charter fishing boat called the Gail Frances for 36 years. He was a member of the RI Charter Boat Association, and held the oldest pilots license in the association.

Two arrested in double stabbing at Veterans Memorial housing development

WOONSOCKET – Two people are facing charges in connection with a brawl on a basketball court in the Veterans Memorial housing project that sent a father and his son to the hospital with stab wounds on Friday.

Robert “Indio” Carrasquillo, 32, and Yaidelis Vega, 27, were to be arraigned in Sixth District Court today on charges of committing felony assaults in which two different knives were used.
