NOKOMIS, FL - Sergio (Sarge) P. Rotatori, 84, passed away at home on November 30, 2014. He was the husband of Patricia Rotatori. Sergio was born on February 28, 1930. He was the son of Savario and Rosalba (Conti) Rotatori. He resided in Nokomis, Florida, but was raised, lived, and owned Rotatori Auto Inc. in Bellingham, MA for most of his life. Sergio was a veteran of the United States Navy.

CUMBERLAND - Rhonda Lee Smart, 51 of Main Street passed away Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of Gregory J. Reynolds. Born in Woonsocket she was the daughter of James G. Smart and his wife Linda Denosky-Smart of Exeter and Sharon Casey of Florida.

Nature drops season’s first big wintry mess

The arrival of a light rain in the area Monday night turned local highways and roads into skating rinks for vehicles for a time, with a number of accidents being reported before road crews could get down a melting layer of sand and salt.

No major injuries resulted from incidents in the local area, according to police, but the bad weather did cause the closing of Route 146 in North Smithfield for a time while state Department of Transportation highway crews were called to the area, and the shutdown of Martin Street in Cumberland due to five accidents early Tuesday.

WOONSOCKET - Maurice A. Beaudet 90, formerly of Jenckes St. died Thursday, December 4, 2014, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of the late Laura (Dufresne) Beaudet with whom he was married for sixty nine years. Mr. Beaudet was born in Woonsocket a son of the late Donald and Rose Alma (Masse) Beaudet. He was a weaver for many Woonsocket textile mills. He also worked for Rite-Cap Tire of Woonsocket.

UXBRIDGE, MA - Doris Bazinet 81, died December 7, 2014 at Trinity Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born June 7, 1933 in Uxbridge, MA a daughter of the late Corine Bazinet. Doris was also pre-deceased by her grandparents Henri and Louisa Bazinet. Doris was a member of the former Arc of RI where she worked as a food server and assembler for many years.
A committal service will be held Thursday at 10:00 AM in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery in Bellingham. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home.

CUMBERLAND - David J. Nadeau 57, of Bound Rd, Cumberland RI, died Saturday in RI Hospital. He was the husband of Diane (Richer) Nadeau. He was a son of Sylvia Grimard) Nadeau and the late Rene Nadeau. He was a mechanic working for the Penske Trucking and Leasing Co. for many years. David was a member of the Cumberland Beagle Club, and was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hiking, and cycling. In addition to his sportsman's interests, he was also an avid reader.

HARRISVILLE - Charles P. LaFleur, 67, of Harrisville, died Sunday, December 7, 2014 in the Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center, Providence. He was the husband of Kathleen A. (Manning) LaFleur, whom he married January 26, 1974. Born in Woonsocket, RI, he was the son of the late Joseph and Jeanne (Morel) LaFleur.
Mr. LaFleur attended Bellingham High School. He was an Army veteran. Mr. LaFleur was a tree trimmer for Lewis Tree Company, retiring in 2012. He was a communicant of St. Theresa's Church, Nasonville and a member of the VFW, Forestdale.

(Roy) Bibeault. Born in Woonsocket, RI, he was the son of the late George J. and Clarinda (Archambeault) Bibeault.
