Lorraine R. Riopel
NORTH SMITHFIELD- Lorraine R. Riopel of Great Road died Monday morning, February 21st, at the Landmark Medical Center in Woonsocket.
Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Bertha (Tavernier) Pfefferle.
She is survived by two sisters, Mary Titherington and Elaine L. Dwyer, her goddaughter, several nieces and nephews, and her business associate, Murielle Vallee of Vallee Jewelers.
Paul R. Jenkins
GLOCESTER- Paul R. Jenkins, 58, of Chepachet, RI, passed away on Tuesday February 22, 2011 at home surrounded by his devoted family. He was the husband of Ellen (Morris) Jenkins, to whom he had been married for 37 years.
Born in Rome, NY, he was the son of Marjorie (Hummel) Jenkins, 93 of Bradenton, FL, and the late Harold R. Jenkins. He attended Rome Free Academy and studied electrical engineering at Clarkson College. He and his family moved to Rhode Island in 1986 to continue his career.

CUMBERLAND – The elite seedings for this weekend’s state wrestling championships bear out the dual-meet rankings for the regular season.
Unbeaten Cumberland, the defending state team champion, collected four No. 1 seeds. Cranston West earned three, as did Warwick Veterans. East Providence was honored with two top seeds – sophomore heavyweight Jonah Aurelio and senior 160-pounder Jared Burrows. Bishop Hendricken, also expected to contend for the team title, got one.
PROVIDENCE – Whenever Ali Sayles competes for the Mount St. Charles Academy track & field team, there's one voice she can distinctly hear from the crowd.
To paraphrase a few lyrics from a popular 1980s song, that person may often get “so excited that she just can't hide it.”
The face behind the voice and one of Sayles' biggest supporters this winter season and throughout her track career belongs to her mom, Ruth Pointer. That's right, the same Ruth Pointer who, along with her sisters, turned those 80s lyrics into the hit song, “I'm So Excited,” as a member of the legendary Pointer Sisters.
Robert J. Hogue
WOONSOCKET- Robert J. Hogue, 84, of Read Ave, died Monday, February 21, 2011 at Briarcliffe Manor, Johnston. He was the husband of Therese (Patenaude) Hogue, whom he married July 2, 1949.
Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of the late Lucien and Dora (Lacourse) Hogue.
Beatrice L. Hunt
NORTH SMITHFIELD- Beatrice L. (Cook) Hunt, 87, of Mendon Rd., died Monday, February 21, 2011 in The Friendly Home, Woonsocket. She was the wife of the late Joseph Hunt.
Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late Herbert V. and Ellen Beatrice (Steere) Cook.
Mrs. Hunt worked forty-six years for the former New England Telephone Co., now Verizon, retiring in 1986. She was a lifetime member of the Verizon Pioneers.
Karen G. Bouchard
NO. SMITHFIELD- Karen G. Bouchard, 62, resident of No. Smithfield passed away Feb. 21, 2011 at the Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center in Providence.
Born in Woonsocket, a daughter of the late Peter & Anna (Lanowy) Gemski,
Paul G. Montville
WOONSOCKET- Paul G. Montville, 56, resident of Woonsocket, passed away February 20, 2011 in Woonsocket.
Born in Woonsocket, a son of the late Francis & Cecelia (St. Pierre) Montville.
Paul worked for the maintenance department for the North Smithfield High School. A lifelong Woonsocket resident. He was vice-president of the NEA. He was an avid New York Yankees and Montreal Canadians fan.
He is survived by his nephew whom he raised as his own son Keith Dufresne of Alton IL, grandchildren, Keith P. & Elizabeth A. Dufresne, and his sister Carol Dufresne of Woonsocket.
Marilyn Allaire
NORTH KINGSTOWN- Marilyn "Mitzy" Allaire, 78, resident of No. Kingstown died February 18, 2011 at her residence.
She was the loving wife of Edward P. Allaire for fifty three years.
Born in Woonsocket RI, a daughter of the late Thomas & Ella (Mahan) Gilbert.
Mitzy was a loving homemaker, a resident of for the last two years, previously of Woonsocket where she lived most of her life.
Constance L. Knapik
BLACKSTONE - Constance L. "Connie" (Lacroix) Knapik, 83, formerly of Millville, died Friday, February 18, 2011 at Beaumont Rehabilitation & Skilled Nursing Home, Northbridge.
Born in Blackstone on November 16, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Regia (Guilbault) Lacroix.
As a young girl, Connie moved with her family to Millville and stayed to raise her own family there until moving to Early Village in Blackstone.
